She feels very unresponsive, clunky, and boring to me. Her damage output seems to be about the same, but her attack speed makes her feel like deadweight. I don't think they nerfed her ability to carry too hard; Riot just made her completely miserable to play as in comparison to what she was.

There isn't just "smooth" playstyles, because that gets kind of boring after a while. Some examples of smooth playstlyes are Ahri and Sivir. They are smooth and finesse-y to play with. But there are also those who are clunky and stacatto. Some examples are LeBlanc and Orianna. It's just personal preference. If you don't like the new Tristana, despite the old Tristana being just as "clunky", then that's just your opinion. Hopefully I cleared up that clunkiness isn't a bad thing.
