Time to think outside the box for Season 5 jungle

Was just thinking about it, back in season 4, unless you had FF you usually would sell your jungle item late game for something that had more value (ex: Selling Spirit of the Ancient Golem for a Warmogs, Selling Spectral Wraith for Rabadon's or Zhonya's).

I think that the current state of jungle itemization is making that more optional now. Instead of like it has been this seasons, keeping enchants for the high value on both the enchant and the smite itself, you can now optionally sell you jungle item (since smites are now less valuable).

This could be the difference between a Malphite picking up a Warmog's late game instead of juggernaut, meaning he'd get 300 extra hp and the only thing he'd be giving up is Trailblazer since the other smites aren't that great right now.

Or Olaf could pick up a BotRK for its slow instead of the piss poor (and about the same range) chilling smite.

Alternatively Riot could also revert Chilling Smite back to the 50% slow since the range is reduced, meaning it would actually be worthwhile to take. The biggest problem is though Riot, the smite upgrades are NECESSARY for junglers to thrive. You need them to farm efficiently, you need them to gank efficiently (especially with champions like Kalista Ahri who can easily escape ganks), but every patch you are making the smites weaker and more expensive. (250 gold just so I can go from farming for a not shit early game to a mediocre ganking mid game)

The upgraded jungle items have very good stats/passives and are worth keeping usually, in my opinion. Sometimes it might be a good idea to sell it for something else that really is a better item for that situation.

I think the new jungle items are better late game than the ones in previous seasons, definitely.

Sometimes I hold my blue smite in too high esteem to let it go.

I usually dont buy juggernaut and just sell smite once late game comes >.>

idk thats just me, why invest is juggernaut when investing toward a sunfire instead just seems more useful

I like the cost of the conversions. I personally think it should be higher.

When I roll into my jungle as Nautilus, and I see that the enemy has picked up the counterjungling smite, I just don't even clear my own camps. Then he comes in to smite his bonuses two minutes later, and doesn't get any. It's great, just knowing that you out-dicked their dick move.

I agree with chilling smite beind underwhelming. It would be nice if it had a degrading slow. from 50% that fades to 30% kind of like the opposite of nasus wither.
