PSA: Jungle changes next patch are not aimed at giving junglers their advatange from S8-S9 back

They are aimed at two things:

  • helping low ELO junglers who don't path as well and thus fall behind
  • nerfing funnel, which got too strong in preaseason

That's literally it. Riot is not trying to revert the nerfs, nor they are trying to aid junglers at plat+ at all, they are just "lowering the shock" for low elos where games are slower and people take krugs. The twitter posts make it very clear that they consider jungle to be in line with other lanes after the changes.

What if i told you... It wasnt the jungle that gave junglers an advantage, but the junglers themselves? By making the jungle more difficult and less accessable, while at the same time nerfing EXP gains, riot was very heavily pushing brain dead gank-centric junglers who take very little skill to play and who can by the very nature of their kit destroy each other with only a small advantage.

The upcoming changes are a joke if you ask me. Mathematically speaking the xp buff is less than 10% and thats a best case scenario if you afk farm the jungle so do not worry low elo laners, you will still climb if you ward for once and get some knowledge of jungle pathing.

(not trying to be toxic but jungle is only relevant in low elo where ppl int kills)

Riot is making these changes not because they actually listened to the community or got in touch with the game but because they saw what a clown fiesta pro play is and lose money from it. I mean soloq games over in 15-20 minutes while pro scene games longer than ever, what a season to be alive in.

I'm personally okay with that. I was a jungler for season 9 and I got used to that. So far I'm mostly a support player, but I'm actually trying to learn other roles as well. I am honestly moving to other roles BECAUSE jungle has been nerfed, but I would like to return to it from time to time.

s9 jungle? that meta sucked. s9 jungle was easily the worst jungle meta. this one at least has meaningful objectives.

OP is making shit up. Riot didn't say any of that, he/she is just creating their own narrative. Riot wanted to help farming junglers, which the new changes BARELY do.

Here is exactly what Scruffy said:

"Jungle Followup With enough time to see the results on the preseason jungle changes, we’re seeing some goals were achieved and some not.

  • Small nerfs - the jungle XP and gold are nerfed, but it’s looking like it’s a bit too hard in particular on farming and later game junglers.
  • Pathing is more balanced - this goal was definitely achieved, not all paths are perfectly balanced with each other but we’re much closer here than we were in season 9
  • Less early ganks more farm - this goal was not achieved, we’re seeing roughly the same amount of early ganking as season 9

The plan - we’re looking to buff up jungle XP slightly and skew towards incentives to farm over gank

  • Buffing jungle XP per min for minutes 4-18 and spreading it across the less targeted camps that are often skipped by gank heavy junglers
  • Pushing back the minion farm penalty removal to further nerf funnel strategies (which are rare but extremely strong)"_

As you can see, Scruffy admitted the jungle was nerfed too hard, especially for farming and late game junglers. He didn't say "low elo noobs need help" or even hint at it.

I'm sick these posts trying to change the narrative. Obnoxious.
