Back in his day, you took Darius top, and beat the enemy's dick in with your superior dick smashing champion. Top laners these days with their pansy arsed "ranged harass" can't appreciate the experience of having their dicks beaten in by real top laners.
P.S. When I started writing this, I imagined OP would be some jaded, Olaf player, pining for the good ol days. But they play Teemo. I don't even know what to make of this.

Spaceman5pff25 votesTop lane was much more fun in the days of exclusively Melee vs Melee. Unlike mid, where accurate clicking won the lane, a good top was one who better understood wave manipulation, control, and abuse. Holding your cc until the enemy accidentally picks up aggro etc....
Heck, on ur Riven point, at least (if you know what you are doing) you can zone her off some cs while all her spells are on CD. Eventually she will pick up CDR, but if you properly punish her trades early, cdr won't be enough to push through you anymore. Ever since Brutalizer was split into Cauliflower Warhammer and Serrated Dick, the 20% cdr item rush on riven became much weaker unless you had a lead b4 buying cdr.

By level 4 or 5, she can one shot waves with her Q and no items. On top of that she gets a burst of speed (as if she actually needed more mobility) so you can't get into trades, and if you do happen to land some damage she heals it back with her passive. Just... utter... BS... design.
Zed is pretty damn bad too, but you at least get opportunities to trade damage because he does have get in closer than Ahri. Most Zed's will just farm up and poke, then head off to a side lane for kills.

NineTailedMystic21 votesAhri cannot clear even casters with 1 Q until Morello/Athenes + Ludens. Her Q is also moderately mana demanding. The speed boost is to help her be a kite mage, since otherwise the only reliable tool she has to kite is E. Her passive has already been nerfed and is better to play against than Morgana's 15% free spellvamp. It heals 3 per hit + .09 AP until level 6, so if she hits a full wave (3 melee, 3 casters, 1 cannon) with both sides of a Q, with 30 AP from Runes/Masteries and Dorans, she'll heal only about 42. After spending the mana for 4 Qs.

Since Zed has amazing waveclear on his q and e plus getting more ad from W which aids in last hitting, why isn't the passive just champion only?

Since when can graves bully you without you being able to trade back significantly more damage, he has 425 aa range and his q has a 2 second delay to dodge it, unless he's ulting you for harass and you consider that bullying with no consequences graves is easy to out trade until he gets major items like Death's dance
