The changes to the placements in the new ranked are good. If you were diamond through solo Q last season you should have no issue becoming diamond again. If you were diamond last season in endless 5 man premades then you are going to most likely have a hard time climbing back to diamond.

I'll take having to go form bronze 5 back to silver 3 if it means that diamond 5 and plat are going to have less, or no boosted animals this time around.

Best thing is that I'm pretty sure they didn't even change the way the reset works. They just actually gave us a popup this year telling us we'll probably place lower.

They had to have changed something. Tons of people went from low gold to bronze, even after winning 10 placements. I've seen their games and i have seen their KDAs and stuff.

they did reset the mmr specifically for Flex Q but those players will be pushed down again once high elo starts playing. Its like every preseason where low elo plays their heart out thinking they deserve a higher elo but in fact high elo players take a break haha.

Really? The only one I had going from low gold to bronze on my friends list was one that barely made gold and was afraid of dropping so they stopped playing. The other Gold on my friends list placed mid Silver. I guess I need a bigger sample size... This shall be interesting.

I think they finally found a way to please everyone. Solo/duo like season 5- shows individual skill and will remove the boosted people that ruin games, esp after riot made it so they couldn't play with their high diamond friends so they were left to them self against real plat players haha. Flex Q is incentive because there will be a bonus reward for people who rank high in both and lets players, such as my self, who have two friends that want to play at the same time and now can.

Flex Queue doesnt have anything to do with your previous rank (new queue new MMR) when solo and duo reopen (on November 14th) then you will pick up where you left off in silver until the reset. But just so you know you will probably be placed bronze next season in solo/duo too because of how placements with soft resets work where the highest rank you can be placed is plat 1 that means that all Diamond, Master, and Challenger players will be placed plat moving everyone down about 1 entire rank. You can wait until later in the season where those players re-reach the ranks past plat 1 which gives you better odds of being placed silver again but it still highly likely you will be bronze. This is fair because being placed lower than what you are, is like being retested to see if you really deserved the rewards you got from the season before.
