I like on how riot broke the support items so much that..

If you have a support NOT building redemption/locket and the other team does you pretty much auto lose the game, aside from being in a 10k gold lead at 15 min stomp.

Its really fun to lose games because my support feels like building some AP items on a close game while the other support goes redemption locket censor janna, now any kind of aggressive play i try to do is completely nullified and my AP morg cant even break their shields with whole rotation.

Thank you riot, now this is fun gameplay for everyone involved im sure.

They could lose 30% of their active power and still be commonly built. They're very powerful. But even then I think these items that grant aoe reactive defense will be popular support buys so long as they aren't junk.

I think their gold costs should go up a noteable amount if anything and be the extra luxurious support items with the less sought after support items being lower costs. But at the same power supports may just continue to save up for them though and just have them slower...

Current costs

item 3107 2100g item 3190 2200g item 3222 2100g item 3504 2300g item 3174 2100g item 3050 2250g item 3109 2300g item 3060 2200g

Locket is miles away by far the most overpowered one as it grants instantaneous large shield. Sometimes I build it as a normal tank item. Or on fed Teemo as an FU to AP dmg. And still works as general defense/bait. For 2200g it gives 30 armor, 60 mr and a shield 300-600 large in size (consider it hp). A 30 armor, 60mr, 300-600 hp item is absolutely bonkers for 2200g. If locket wasn't bonkers bursting through before redemption procs which I think is a bit overrated yet solid item can happen more.

Locket should be weaker. Locket and redemption should be more toward 2500g

Like Riot literally made locket the most overpowered item ever, more than the old one and locket should be getting all the flak tbh

The real question is why would supports still save up for and buy locket/redemption even if they cost 20% more and were nerfed..? Why can't we get those damage supports items relevant..? I think it's because carries are soo squishy that their baseline survivability requires these items in a competitive game no matter how much you nerf them into unfun to own land (unless they simply became not worth the buy)

If throwing out offensive spells + itemizations > proper defensive spells + itemization usage...

then what would be the point of peeling and defending. Morg used her rotation, she still needed to be reacted to PROPERLY, she wasnt just ignored, janna cant save everyone from everyone, morg can find a way, whether by finding janna and killing her 1v1 or atleast making her waste her actives.

That , and I believe morg falls off hard late game damage wise, but hits her best around early - mid game.

And to be honest Redemption is overrated and is not a 100% must have on certain supports

Depends on game though, I always atleast get item 3190 when either team has a Kindred and activate it just as her ult ends. item 3165 and item 3123 are commonly in play with kindred ult so locket is superior to redemption in those instances

It's like a game of Rock Scissors.

If both teams choose rock, the team gets their say.

If one chooses scissors, rock wins!

paper isn't included because that's what my supports are made of.

so a support playing support should not beat a support playing apc which is unviable for a few reasons because she wont have a gold income

That's kind of the point, because otherwise everyone would spam Zyra and Lux support (who are mages, not supports, regardless of what anyone says) and build full AP. It encourages SUPPORT BUILDING so that one team actually has a DISadvantage if they choose to go full AP support.

Hasnt jana always been a great counter to morg since morg came to bot in season 3 ?(season4 for pros and where she really broke through but she was already seeing some play sup back then)

Morg has always been strong vs hard engage sups like blitz or leo and weak against enchanters like jana or nami.

Plus morg sup is just weak right now and has been for a long time sadly enough then she is playing a supoptimal build on her and she is playing that into her counter who is in a strong spot with a strong build on her and she is still surprised that she couldnt do a thing she was not ment to do? i agree that morg sup (specially apsup) is to weak and that the shield items are strong atm but she just isnt meant to do that.

Every Board Troll:APCs are not supports just failed mages for the midlane. AP supports have been in the botlane for more time than most league of legends players,so im pretty sure riot knows that ap supports exist and supports it. So yeah AP supports are not "failed mages from the midlane" they are "AP supports"if riot wanted to make the support role for "supports only" they had 4 years to do so.

As a support main I prioritize Locket, then most likely build Ardent, but Vary it from there. I think Redemption is great but I found (so far) it is not a must. My opinion may change though as I continue to climb.

yesterday even at 8k gold lead. if the enemy ivern flash locket redemption on team fights. it would negate all damage done within that period of time. some stupid 1.2k effective hp on all members late game.
