Why is Zyra not played mid more?

Her scaling is pretty damn good. Why is she not played mid more? I pretty much never see her played.

I realize a small group of people play her as support, but for what exact reason is she not played mid at all anymore?

Costs for spells are way to much atm, 2. Her plants take like 1-2seconds to start attacking when they are born, 3. Her passive is awful because it's easy to dodge and you get a 2second delay before you can use it, 4. IMO she isn't rewarding enough when you play her well, I love zyra and would love to see a buff but I doubt they will since rito doesnt care about old champions anymore.

Probably cause she doesn't have dashes, point and click gap-closers, nor instant re-positioning abilities.

Or point and click hard CC. Her abilities are all skillshots, but Riot hates rewarding players for landing skillshots (Unless your name is Nidalee), so she'll be garbage tier like Ezreal.

I'm not even a bad zyra, but the last time I played her on rift mid I actually wanted nothing more than for either a surrender or my game to suddenly crash.

One they nerfed her like crazy, she has high mana costs, and has a hard time keeping up with all the dashing, blinking, point and click mid champions. I've had success on and off with her mid lane, but unless she is buffed considerably, she is pretty hard to play mid, but in my opinion she's a great support if you are good with her/support role.

Edit: I forgot, she is SLOW as heck. Has like the slowest MS in the game.

She is so frustrating to play because of how horribly made her plants are. She has an amazing kit but there is no way to justify playing someone who relies of completely busted AI. Between the random delays on her plants starting to attack and their random decisions to stop attacking the very low enemy champion and prioritise minions instead, her plants can cost you crucial damage like no other mechanic in the game.

If they make it so that a large part of her damage and even peel doesn't occasionally decide to completely fail her then I think she'll become more popular but you really can't play a champion who is so unsure of their kit working correctly. When you see the enemy get away because your plant that just needed to auto them once more decided not to, you'll know why she's not played.

And it sucks, because she is amazing. Stranglethorns is among my favourite abilities in the game.

There is pretty much no reason to play her when you got the likes of Heimerdinger whose turrets actually work properly unlike zyras plants sometimes.

because she sucks balls mid lol

325 movement speed while Emperor Balanced (aka Azir) got 335 while having higher HP, armor, and a dash + shield and Xerath got 340 while having a faster and longer stun and way higher range: #logic lowest base HP in the game E is too much slow and roots for only 0.75 at level 1 so it's best used on 2 people (aka as support) Plant AI bugged as heck Shitty passive

she sucks balls even @ support after the nerfs (and that's the reason why you don't see her in LCS or any other league since 3000 B.C.), but if you master her you can manage to have a decent winrate, so i guess to Rito's balance team this is all that matters

P.S. her scaling sucks, W plants got 0.2 AP ratio
