The reason only a small percentage of people use item sets is because they're a bitch to make.

Seriously, streamline the feature and make it more obvious that it exists and a lot more people will use it. Currently it's just a chore to make an item set, don't remove them outright, improve them. they can very clearly be made a lot better.

I'd imagine that a lot more people would use them if they were easier to make.

The most basic use for them - adding a small number of extra items to the default item set - is impossible because it won't let you load the default item set as a starting point. Instead, you have to make every item set from scratch, which is a difficult process and prone to mistakes (e.g. accidentally forgetting to include boots or something.) That's just too much fiddly work for a lot of people to deal with.

I'd rather take 5 minutes to make an item set then having to waste time in an actual game finding an item or completely forgetting about an item that I might want. Especially with the item overhaul next patch, I want to know what items I'm dealing with and not have to sit at foundation and go through the items and remember what each one gives me.

Especially with the tech of the new client that is designed for more flexibility, I don't see why not.

Thought you were talking about how item sets were coded as a feature because they can be potentially very buggy, but you also have a point there.

As someone that enjoys making item sets, this is just plain sucks. It's almost as bad as when they got rid of Dominion for the same reasoning. Being in the minority in LoL is suffering.

Start by letting us search for penetration items..

Smite does item sorting better and they make 1/3 rito's profit

yeah, the item search is rather awful. I really like the idea of being able to start with the default item set....not sure why on earth that wasn't implemented originally xD

Personally, I do use item sets, but they are definitely a pain in the butt to create.

I think people don't use it because they think that the item sets still get reset after every patch which Riot fixed a while ago.

I use item sets all the time, what the fuck?

Goosetard10/20/2016, 11:11:42 AM4 votes

Oh come on they're removing them? I finally got around to making a few and they're just so fucking helpful. Like... why?! It's literally hurting NOTHING.

This is completely indefensible.

Items sets will be removed? Ruck Fiot

It would help to have an option to display only the item icons in the set creator, without the attached names.

For me, it always annoyed me to have to manually scroll up and down that list.

EDIT: Also, integrate the item set creator into an item lexicon like feature, in which you can learn in-client what the items do.

I also think it's cause very few people even know it's a feature. i personally don't use it cause 1. i'm too lazy 2. making a item page is a pain 3. I am eve main which means i use ALL the items 4. i'm too lazy.

General Esdeath 10/19/2016, 7:25:11 PM1 votes

I don't use it because I only play a handful of champs in ranked and after months it's fairly easy to remember the 10 items I'd get on each of them.

Riven item 3071 item 3026 item 3158 item 3111 item 3812 item 3156 item 3072 item 3065 item 3074 item 3142

Jax item 3124 item 3146 item 3153 item 3047 item 3111 item 3078 item 3053 item 3065 item 3512

Or maybe, the reason people didn't use them was because there's literally no reason to do so...You can type in item names on the fly, and making a custom item set will inevitable encourage players to lock themselves in to fixed builds instead of adapting to the needs of the team/the match up.
