So... Who is most likely to see a post-worlds nerf the most?

JavelinJoe··40 votes·11,059 views

My moneys on Syndra Syndra. She is a near pick or ban so far and has shown to be a very crucial threat in any game she is in either when ahead, even, or behind (but mostly when ahead).

We AND the skins team will be rather sad if we have to "look forward to" another line of SKT skins

Fondling Gems6 votes

Huh, just realized there are more SKT skins than skins for a single champ. RIP Rye and Teemo.

JavelinJoe1 votes

If this happens then the players faces should be just superimposed onto the champions like they did with the massive Draven head for his skin and call it done for any more SKT skins.

KOREA has 5 letters and starts with K

KRUGS also has 5 letters and starts with K

Ivern is the only champion in direct verbal contact with Krugs

Ivern nerfs confirmed.

500000000000000016 votes

We need to go deeper!

Smiting Krugs lets you CC minions and monsters with autoattacks. You know who else CCs minions and monsters with autoattacks? That's right, Graves. Graves can knock back minions and monsters with his autoattacks because of his passive. You know whose passive makes graves? Yorick. In his lore, Yorick is kept alive because of the bottle of water from the Blessed Isles around his neck. And there's only one ability in the game that references a neck: Cutthroat, of Talon. Talon is getting a rework to have interactions with Terrain, and have situationally the highest mobility in the game. You know who has the situationally highest mobility in the game? Irelia, when she's around a lot of low health minions, if she uses her Q to minions only.

Better nerf Irelia.

Melledoneus2 votes

Hm... I see. So Faker's finally going to get nerfs after being left strong for so long? Finally, I was getting tired of people calling my main OP.

Irelia Bot4 votes

You mean making them play with 50 ping so faker is tilted?

Swiftstrike427 votes

Don't think they will change Syndra at all. She is an immobile high damage champion and was never overly strong after the mid season mage update. Her win rate has been 47-49% most of the season.

Probably Rumble and Kennen will be looked at. Remember they are playing two patches behind us.

Shifune7 votes

Finally, someone else that understands. The only reason Syndra looks so good at worlds is because the champions that counter her aren't on the "Certified World's Mid-laners" list. They could easily destroy Syndra if they picked other champs, but they probably haven't practiced comps involving those champs or they don't consider those champs to be as good overall outside of beating Syndra.

And Syndra's winrate has only been 50%+ 5 times in the past 20 patches. She is fine where she is.

NineTailedMystic3 votes

You shouldn't have to counterpick her to win.

Zerenza2 votes

Swain,Malzahar and Vlad were the only OP things after the mage update. All the mage update did for syndra was give her tools she should have already had, they were borderline broken after the update but right under them were Syndra and Cassiopeia. They nerfed all of those champions and you have the next best thing, that's kind of what happens when everything else drops a tier. She isn't by any means broken, go into a ranked game and play her, see for yourself it's nothing like what "Broken" stands for.

Broken champs this season include: Swain, Vlad, Malzahar, Sona, Ekko, Yasuo, Ashe, Sivir and Jhin. That's not all of them but they've all had above 54% winrates this season and that's what should be considered broken. Syndra's on the other hand is....oh yeah 48%.

NineTailedMystic2 votes

Yes, I'm aware of how T2 become T1 when the T1 gets nerfed. Same thing is happening with Ahri right now, just not in worlds.

Also, I never stated she's broken, even though I think she's rather easy.

Broken Broken Broken

http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/f6/f67334bc58f2468bad15312669d5edaa0afe4c44de4eb56039994a47f00d296b.jpg

Broken is when a champion's kit or parts of it are fundamentally flawed. Overpowered is when a champion is way stronger than the similar champions for any reason.

One doesn't imply the other, as a "broken" champion can be weak, strong or either.

For example Sivir could be balance with only number tweaks, so she isn't broken, just overpowered. Another example Ekko has like 2 slows, 2 speed buffs, stun, shield, etc. Those can't be balanced without removing some of them, so he's broken.

Skarner. Riot doesn't like him being considered viable. They've never let it slide once.

Rumble waveclear

Kennen basic attack frames

Syndra everything.

Malicious Metal22 votes

As much as I love Skarner I feel he just needs a complete VGU at this point. His entire kit is so binary and he doesn't offer a ton of ways to make flashy play except his flash R trick.

His Q is unintuitive His W is very basic His E is interesting

His spires are just a stat check.

His ultimate is very simple but powerful.

Scrapping everything and maybe preserving his ultimate in a way would be the best course of action IMO

Sire Hippington6 votes

The issue is though is that his ult is one of the core problems, it's so powerfull that the rest of his kit is kept low to compensate(like shen). Current scarner is really strong, but past 25 min he's very boring to play as he's just a walking ult bot that occasionaly gets a pick with the ult and then goes ham on an objective.

Talisid3 votes

I agree. Its like you make blitzcrank hook+punch combo into a point and click ability and expect that to not cause some degenerate gameplay.

IMO its the same problem with Syndra. Very limited counterplay when you have a point and click targeted Ultimate that is THAT powerful.

SpecterVonBaren3 votes

They need to focus on making him about what he was originally supposed to be, a sticky fighter that you can't get away from once he gets you in his claws.

Mansana13 votes

Problem with Syndra is that the champs that actually suppressed her from being picked prior to worlds were nerfed. And most of her counters aren't competitively meta for Worlds. In solo-que she doesn't do too well because there a lot more options that can deal with her. If she does get nerfed she will be in a much worse spot when the assn and bruiser/diver updates come along. For example as a Syndra main I find it hard dealing with bruiser tanks (Gragas, Irelia, etc.) and champs that can easily get to the back line and be a nuisance (Hecarim, Azir, etc.) I'll have to let you know that she wasn't a new pick coming to worlds. She actually suffered losses in LPL before being a staple meta pick. Only way I can see nerfs for her is if they completely remove the aegis aura. But in retrospect many of us Syndra mains forewarned about the MYMU and would gladly take a revert if possible over any other nerfs.

Kennen's ult might be a bit too powerful with mage update changes but keep in mind he's just abusing two manaless overpowered AP items item 3152 item 3116

Rylias has been my rush item all year.

Other strange things are his trivial energy costs (I don't even think about them might hit the bottom once every 5 games); and his skillshot not even worth ranking up after W or even E for resists/mobility/aoe.

NessTyre5 votes

Though the Pros dont even build Rylai's on Kennen (or they do, but once in a blue moon) because the pure Magic Pen build is better for a synchronized comp. SoloQ Kennen wants Rylai's because he can't count on his team to CC everyone. But the Pros build Protobelt, Zhonya, Void Staff, Sorcerer's, Deathcap and Liandry's in almost everygame. Better build when you have a team to count on and you can ensure damage instead of having to CC AND do the damage.

If they do nerf him simply for being good in synchronized play I'll just go and cry in a corner for being a long time Kennen main and having ma boi be nerfed just because Pros knows how to play him and because he's a good meta champ against the other top laners atm.

My Waifu Vanilla3 votes

I mean Kennen's ult on its own does a whopping 616.25 (+1.7 AP) damage on its own at level 11. Throw in 1-2 W's that do 185 (+.55 AP) a piece anything else and we have a problem. Oh, and all of this is AoE with zero diminishing returns for actually hitting multiple targets and completely unavoidable as long as you are within his ultimate.

After the ult buff Kennen can pretty much win every single fight on his own as long as he has flash and there isn't much you can do about it since his team can keep you there or just clean up any thing else (you are guarenteed like 3-4 ticks of kennen ult since it auto hits you once and W applies a second stack of passive so if you are in it for more than 0.5 seconds you get stunned for even more ticks). Also, Zhonya's makes even less interaction available to deal with Kennen.

Syndra was literally not even on anyone's radar pre-worlds, dunno why this changes anything.

Romtheguy2 votes

I'd say the same with Karma before this season. Now she's actually being picked and even banned! Unbelievable!

Chad Te Employee2 votes

Karma actually has tons of harass bot and really good as a support. Nerfs won't be a surprise

TNHA Baritone4 votes
  1. That wasn't Romtheguy's point. His point was that she has been the same for a long time, yet only has received popularity in pro play.

  2. Karma's "tons of harass bot" is gated by not being able to pass through minions such as Sona Zyra Bard Nami and Soulflare (R+Q) has a ~40 second cool down at early levels. That's not consistent harass.

  3. Nerfs have already happened. They've taken away her ability to interact with minions (Inspire), which was a valuable mechanic that Alistar still possess to this day, and they have already nerfed Defiance (R+E).

notice me Sin pi2 votes

the real reason karma is a frequent pick is cuz in pro play, 40% of the game is decided in the champ select alone unlike our usual ranked games.

Early karma pick forces the enemy team to look for a comp that can deal with both mid karma and support karma, while at same time making the team that picked Karma be flexible in later picks. Other than that, she is nowhere near overpowered. but nerfing karma for one of the positions would probably increase diversity in LCS tho

I Snipe I5 votes

Syndra unfortunately. My wife is pissed and hardly wants to play... she mains syndra and she used to be never picked or banned, now she keeps getting banned every game and she's having to play lux or vel koz, both of which she doesn't want to play.

Screw worlds. Why do people even care about all these random nerds.

Brahmsauce2 votes

I would agree with Syndra only because, they kept giving her damage/ratio(can't remember which) buffs every once and a while and then towards the end they fixed a bunch of her bugs, and didn't revert the multiple buffs. I noticed this and wondered how it would go .. and here we are.

Overloadroad2 votes

Nidalee ?

SlashStriker2 votes

yo wait. I thought you guys wanted Syndra Syndra Buffs

Melledoneus2 votes

Rumble and Kennen have seen a lot of play in the top lane, because they sport a lot of magic damage. Rumble in particular has incredible wave clear, and Kennen's safety is pretty concrete. Furthermore, these champions on top of good laning phases are incredibly powerful in team fights with their ultimates. For these reasons, I think the nerfs will be for Shen.

Celestial Lion122 votes

Don't think syndra will be looked at too much i think riot might look at her a bit next season if shes still dominant in the early part of spring season. there are definitely going to be looking at nidalee again. (maybe bringing her back into lane and out of the jungle?) Rumble will most likely be nerfed again and probably kennen nerfs. I see them doing this more through indirect nerfs like buffing melee tops instead of nerfing them directly.

Tychusfindlay9192 votes

Riot can fix toplane without nerfing rumble or kennen (not to say that they shouldn't receive nerfs, kennen's ultimate and passive together is arguably broken as all hell) by simply buffing this piece of shit item 1054

With a better item 1054 other top lane melees can be contested picks without the fear of being made useless by these assholes Gnar Kennen Jayce
