Beforehand it had a little bit more decision making to it. Like, does X have AP? If so, I'll prioritize that target. It was also a very unique ability and gave him a niche. Now, though, it's just "Press R on anything that has half HP or less"
Or am I the only one feeling this way? I think he's fine right now, but their idea with the mage update was to make everyone unique, but in my opinion, veigar's ult is very boring now.
DHMC1 votesI think it's just the way you're viewing it. The old Veigar was a problem because it punished enemy's for being strong, which is counterintuitive. But just look at it this way "Just press R on anything that has AP items" vs "Is the enemy low on health? If not, I have to save my ult"

Yeah but even with it, Veigar was never as good as he is now.
Keepe1 votesVeigar has always been good. It just really did not come to a head until someone decided to turn him into a flavor of the month and play him in LCS, if I recall correctly.
The problem with Veigar now is, however, that he is no longer mostly Anti-Mage/Squishy. A good tank could easily take him down. But now he's more... Anti everyone. And because of Riot's choice there, it's likely going to end up being nerfed to the ground. And that makes me sick to my stomach since Riot was the one to do this to begin with.

I suppose, but it's much easier to kill someone with QR now than before, especially if they didn't build AP
