Level 1 name holders

Does anyone else feel like accounts that are level 1, an EXP bar of 0/99, should have the minimum time before name can be taken? These accounts are clearly inactive and they're not going to become active. They haven't ONCE been active if it has zero games played.

I think a good change to this would be make you play a few games before securing the name, or being a certain level. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but a name I want is taken by an account that is level 1, 0/99 for EXP, obviously no games played on it; its availability is sometime near the end of august. Obviously for such a lost cause, it'd suck to wait, so that's why I had this idea for minimum games played to secure the name.

tl;dr level 1 nameholders are really annoying

All accounts are given 1 month of protection per level, 6 months minimum. If they don't play for 6 months the name will be free for the taking. Are you wanting less protection for low level accounts on top of that?

I think that people who are level 1 with 0 games should not have the 6 month minimum protection unless they play a few games. There's a difference between inactivity and a 0 game account.

I think they get "tempname' (then insert a number) until the owner comes back to rename it something else. But if you're talking about level 1 accounts then there will more then likely be no instance of the owner coming back.

main is on EUW so I just made a smurf for NA couple of years ago to posto n this forum and eventually got this name due to inactivity.

Yeah, there are some people who don't have all-around access to League of Legends, so either business or lack of the right hardware (even though its quite easy to run league on almost any laptop) aside from that, a whole six months is a long time for a 0/99 account, so who really cares if its deleted since there is just no history on it?

Maybe it could be like ranked placement games, except you need to play the minimum of 3 games in a week. Even though people aren't able to play it all the time, it should be enough.

I think it is so much more then 6 months. For a while year I have been waiting for a name to become available. This guy hasn't played since 2014, and according to Riot I can't have it till 2017. I want this name, but I can't. :S

Then he's more than likely higher than level 6 or so

I think this is more than enough, if you really want a name just wait the 6 months and if they decide to start playing again that sucks for you.

"just wait the 6 months" lol; "again" doesn't apply here if they have NEVER played ONE game on the account. That's what this whole post is about.

Like I said in the other post, there's a difference between a level 1 account with no games on it than a level 30 with games played but inactive

Fine, if they decide to start playing on it that sucks for you. I still think the way it is right now works just fine, and level 30 accounts shouldn't be removed whatsoever even if someone has gone inactive for 5 years they should still be able to get their account back the way it was. So yea I agree with there being a difference between level 1 and 30, I just think 6 months is fine for an account that has never been used at all, it definitely shouldn't be under 3 months and if it was up to me to originally decide the timer I'd probably say 6 months or a year.

People shouldn't lose their accounts just because they haven't played yet, some people decide to start playing league but something gets in the way and they just don't have enough time to play again for a couple of months. But then again there should be something to prevent usernames being taken for no reason. 6 months is really just fine if you ask me, and the only reason I can see why you'd disagree is because you've got your eyes on a certain username for yourself lol.

how often do you make an account for a game but don't play said game for 6 + months before playing for the first time?

if youve made an account and havent played even ONE time for 3 months theres a really good chance you forgot about this account and game altogether

First part is irrelevant because 6+months = account gone. but either way, me never because I'm not a very busy. but it's happened to a couple of my friends before, they decide to join me in a game I'm playing and then something gets in the way, such as school and they just don't have the time, couple months later I'm playing it again and they joined me.

And since most people use the same password and username for most of the things they use they will most likely remember it.

I really just don't see the issue with how it currently is? They're already doing something about unused accounts so why are you all complaining about it? And sure some accounts might never be used again at all but you have to remember that these things are done automaticly so it will happen to all of the accounts including the examples I gave, no matter how little there may actually be of them.

The second a game finishes downloading, the first thing I do is play the game, not wait for a month, not even an hour

Why? Because all of riot's support staff (ones you see on tickets and stuff, those usernames) are all level 1 accounts.

I think those are the ones that are named after champions, too. But none of them are level 1, they're level 6 with a certain amount of EXP in them

I used to be a name collector, no not the kind that made a level 1 and taking all the good names. I like to change my name every 2 months and I've got a lot of black market name sellers added me because I kept on taken the name that they wanted.
