How to change Thresh so he gets nerfed but isn't useless

Most people will agree that Thresh's kit is slightly fucking absurd. He has literally anything you could want in a support, other than a heal.

So how to we nerf him without making him worse than Elise is right now?

So let's take a look:

Passive: Honestly I think this is fine. Takes some time to get going, and because of that his early game armor is lacking.

Q; Death Sentence: The only change I see that is 100% necessary is the hitbox. I play mainly Thresh when I have to support, mainly because he's fun as hell. But I've gotten to the point where I literally can abuse the hitbox of his hook to hit people behind minions.

W; Lantern of Bullshit: Okay, you have a shield (formerly gave to ALL allies instead of one and Thresh), vision, and a get out of enemy free card. Why the shield? It has plenty of utility already. I think being able to pull your adc away from 5 people is enough.

E; Flays for Days: Maybe remove the slow the enemy receives. I wouldn't want to take off the passive damage because not only does i make Targon's hard as hell to use then but it's also completely removing AD Thresh. Keep diversity and AD Thresh Prince alive :^)

R; The Box: Most people would disagree, but I think the box is pretty fine. While 99% slow may seem absurd, people seem to forget that there is a cap to how slow you go. Think about it, you have 400 movespeed, and get slowed for 99%, you should have 4 movespeed. But obviously that's stupid as fuck, so there's a cap on all slows to how slow it can make you. Also, another thing that makes it balanced is the insanely high cooldown, and how easy it can be to dodge or even just flat out misuse.

So really, the major problems are:

  • Hook Hitbox is dumb as hell
  • Lantern literally has 3 forms of utility
  • Flay might have a little too much power (damage passive, knock back, slow)

Honestly, if you just fix the hook hitbox, and then remove the shield from Lantern (let's be honest, that pulling to you makes it good without any other utility) I think he'd be much healthier for the game.
