Lucian kit/role contradicts itself...and will always be a balance nightmare.

I know this sounds like blasphemy, but please, keep an open mind while I try to explain this.

Take a look at this champ spotlight. Riot themselves said, he was a strong solo/duo laner or Mid/bot laner.

No other champ has been both a mid and bot laner and here is why. Mid laners kits generally destroys ADCs in lane because of their base damage from spells and CC.

This is the contradiction/balance nightmare. There is no way you can balance a midlaner to play bot or for a bot to play mid at the same time.

Remember Lucian ult had a 30% AP ratio?
This was gutted to a mere 10%AP because it was oppressing. This destroyed all hope of Lucian in mid lane and he would then be forced into bot lane by players and riot balance team for years. But his kit still has traits of a midlaner because of his spells Q W R.

No other champ has gone through this experience balance wise.

With Lucian, I feel Riot/community took a champ who worked well in mid by design, and forced him into bot. Then complained when he destroyed ADCs. He is always in either a weak or oppressive state, never in between.

If we could go back to his release and say that Lucian was a midlaner, who weave in a few auto attacks like Victor/Zoe for example, Riot would have had a much easier time balancing Lucian.

But its too late for that because the entire community perceives Lucian as an ADC.
