Honestly, seeing the Akali rework makes playing immobile champs seem unfair.

When champs like Kat, Zed, LB, Yasuo, Akali blink all over the screen, just physically clicking on them becomes impossible. Immobile champs become like sitting ducks as they miss all their spells.

These champs don't have "outplay potential". Jumping around the screen at 2000 projectile speed while most mage skill shot go at 800-1200 projectile is not outplay potential. It is broken and simply unfair. To top it of, most of them don't even use mana. They can sit in lane and do it all day. Akali even has a built in heal as fcukking assassin. Heals are not for assassins. Its okay on assassins/fighters, but not pure assassin like Akali. That's why bruiser akaili was a thing. She had plenty of burst and sustain damage/heal in her kit.

Anyway, the point I really want to make its, these new champs are simply becoming too fast for players to physically click and maneuver their mouse to be effective. Especially for immobile champ. If i were playing with a PS4 controller okay, they can fly across the screen all day, but I'm use a mouse. I simply can't keep up.

It would be totally unfair to increase the projectile speed of mage spells right? Well thats exactly what riot is doing with mobility in this game.

Not to mention how unfun it is to play against those champs. The only defense is to sit far away and wait patiently, for their cool downs to go off, then you get your chance to participate in the game. Before long you get to sit your ass back under the tower because you can't do anything until the next round of cooldowns.

Mages were suppose to be compensated for this by being better late game with better siege.

Meddler: but what if I removed late game and made it so towers fall after 2 autos?

The incompetency and total lack of foresight is remarkable.

Thats precisely the thing, if so many assassins are going to have this ludicrous type of mobility, then champs like Karthus, Xerath, Velkoz and other immobile mages need massive boosts to their damage to compensate.

The heal tho on Akali's Q should be removed tho.

I'd be okay with hypermobile champions, if they paid a suitable price for their mobility. In this particular case, Akali has hypermobility and stealth, which she used to have, except both now have been upgraded into free-targeted mobility and unrevealable stealth respectively, yet on top of this she is ostensibly designed to have a lot of burst and DPS still, especially with the addition of her execute, with much more waveclear to boot. The only thing she's truly missing is crowd control, and even then, she has a slow and a ministun for whichever reason.

As an immobile champion, one has to ask oneself: "how do I outplay this?" New Akali is visibly designed to expose herself minimally at melee range, not just with her stealth, but with her hit-and-run playstyle in general, so all of this begs the question as to how the average mage, fighter or tank would be able to deal with her, particularly if she gets ahead.

As with many CertainlyT champions, this champion looks cool to watch, and potentially exhilarating to play, but does not seem to offer meaningful counterplay: most of her interactivity seems to boil down to "dodge the skillshot/dash", but all of her abilities operate at extremely high speeds, which screws over immobile champions all the more, and what little counterplay she used to have with her stealth, low range, and general lack of escapes is now gone. As such, even though it is very early in her release still, it feels difficult to imagine how to successfully outplay her, particularly since she looks almost certainly too strong with her current numbers.

Her E needs a target for her to dash to for her second cast. The first cast is like a Vayne tumble. Her ult, her main execute damage, is on a 120 second cd, and they made it dodgeble. Overall she isnt as mobile as you think

Teridax6810 votes

Her E second dash can be used on her shroud, even if she does not hit an enemy champion, and the first cast allows her to go over walls. The second-cast dash also appears to have unlimited range. Overall, she still has four dashes, plus two separate movement speed boosts, one of which is spammable, so she is very mobile, even with the higher ult cooldown.

Ryusaether4 votes

This.

She has to pay either with low dmg without ult execute, or with low base MS so melees can chase her after she shrouds, or with hard resource management.

I hope she won't be ash bursty as now because in that case she will be a real pain.

You outplay it in champion select, by not picking immobile champions to begin with. That's what this game has become.

If everyone is going to have 10 dashes, bring back point-and-click spells.

Riot has been removing point-and-click spells and turning them into skillshots because "point-and-click spells requires no skill and are boring", but there's no way to land a skillshot on something that can dash two or three times in a row.

RainXBlade3 votes

Well, there's Malzahar with his point-and-click suppress. But, he's pretty useless because of so much burst damage in the game nowadays. His damage also seems lacking if you ask me. Riot turned the poor bastard into an ult bot.

Nausicäa 17 votes

Id like to word the problem is this way.

These high mobility champs/flashy assassins dont even really 'outplay you'. Because outplay implies that these champions have to work for their kills but they really dont. Most of the time its just gap close mash keys electrocute ignite free kill. Instead the burden is 100% placed on the immobile champion to outplay by perhaps dodging a skill if you can at all simply to survive. Meanwhile if the mobility champ fucks up they usually have a get out jail free card on top of all their other shit.

big boi edri16 votes

This is why I play MonkeyKing .

Sometimes you need to keep those hyper mobile champs in check. Sometimes you need to just press a button and click. Sometimes you want to play whack-a-mole but you're short on quarters so you load up League instead.

5050BS15 votes

The WHOLE point of Immobile champs was BIG hits.

But they dont.

They give up mobility for some teeny tiny CC that is only really useful after 3+ points in it and is NOT a displacement so Tenacity lowers it. They are always HIGH Mana cost attacks with longer then 5s CD and once they blow their load are less then a minion for the next 5s.

That's not what you said before, you said they were meta. Just because an immobile champ can be forced to be viable, hardly makes them meta.

Fízz v210 votes

off the top of my head... Swain Vladimir Taliyah Morgana DrMundo , some of the most broken champs in the game rn?

Lucian Waifu2 votes

Vladimir goes bot, and has tons of healing to help him. DrMundo is a tank, so he mostly ignores assassins, Swain is strong on bot, Morgana goes bot and has a shield that can block CC or magic damage, Taliyah is jungle because of her clear. Only DrMundo and Taliyah are in a solo lane, because one is a tank, the other is a cheese for jungle and those champs do better when they don't go up against an assassins.

Him being a bullshit champion doesn’t mean he isn’t a juggernaut.

He’s an unhealthy juggernaut.

Gesterr4 votes

Nah man, whenever he's unhealthy he just presses R and is full hp again!

LightningShado5 votes

Doesn't matter if Vlad has healing, he's still immobile. Doesn't matter if Mundo is tank, he's still immobile. Doesn't matter if Taliyah has good jungle clear, she's still immobile. Do you get what he's saying now? Just because they have good abilities or play in duo lanes, it doesn't mean they're all of a sudden mobile champs. He said immobile champions are meta, and some of them are. He wasn't saying that ONLY immobile champs are meta and that ONLY mobile champs aren't meta, he just writes in a stupid way that isn't very clear.

PB4UAME6 votes

Mundo has a massive long duration ms increase on R, Taliyah has one of the longest range dashes in the entire game, and ways to passively boost her MS. Vlad gets a MS steroid in his W.

All of them technically have mobility. And Taliyah is fucking non-negotiable. She is not immobile under any definition.

On one side people want these mobile champions to be able to be hit by something to slow them down.

On the other side people don't want point and click abilities because "muh counterplay".

remakoro7 votes

I Remember how i played as mage vs some hyper mobile champions - i just sit there and wait for my team to catch them with target CC and then i just burst them. Not even trying to hit them before that. But right now when there is 4 such fucks on enemy team instead of 1 or 2 this tactic becomes hardly viable.

I guess i found my new main Poppy With that shitload of dashes we have around for some bizarre reason this is the only champion capable of directly countering that.

I'll just wait here for the Mordekaiser rework where every one of his abilities carries the "grounded" debuff.

Ýisus6 votes

Spot on - i have said since season 6 ... Every new champion they release / rework ... they make 10+ old champions obsolete. Every new champion / rework is overly mobile. It makes the game really uninteresting.

I don't understand, in what universe is a PS4 controller better than a mouse?

Automated Riven5 votes

I mean at this point playing visable champions is gonna be unfair.

But really I am doing my best to withhold judgment.

Thegreatxiu5 votes

"If I were playing with a PS4 controller okay, they can fly across the screen all day, but I'm use a mouse. I simply can't keep up." Mouse and keyboard is objectively more accurate at speeds than a controller.

Aloretec5 votes

Been that way since ahri release. It's called mobility creep. The player base warned riot of this long long ago.

Dokueki Kenshin5 votes

It’s the cost that they pay for being able to kill/zone some people from incredibly far away.

Now, don’t get me wrong; you’re right. Mobility is way too accessible and comes off cooldown way too quickly. That being said, the intent is that if they can’t get close to you, they are inherently at a disadvantage. Likewise, if you can’t wall them out, they have the advantage. I think what needs to happen is that assassins and mobile champions need to have their cooldowns on mobility abilities significantly increased.
