lets talk about bard top

I know not many people like bard, and especially think its a troll pick in top lane, but hear me out.

here's why i think bard top is awesome.

top is generally full of melees. in order for melees to farm they usually have to run in front of their minions and last hit cs. bard is perfect for denying CS as he can stun someone right as theyre walking up.

i start flat AD runes and some CDR runes in order to harass as much and as hard as possible in the early phase. ive seen that bard can safely stun melee top laners, and then get in 2-4 auto attacks on him/her before minions switch priorities onto you. it might seem weak at first, but when you're getting in free 80 damage auto attacks in 2 to 4 times every time they try to come and cs, they get real scared real quick and either try to stay back, or try to fight you. both of these are bad ideas as bard is fast, and has limitless mana for toplane considering if he can just leave lane, grab chimes, and then portal his way back into lane.

its actually very easy to last hit as his AA animations are slow, and easy to time out.

you should not build AD as the game progresses but rather, build a , and a situational last item depending on what is going on in the game.

the power spike you get from rushing a gauntlet is actually pretty substantial, and if you're well farmed, you can come back to lane at 8-13 minutes and just chunk your enemy laner out for 1/4 of his hp with just a Q, AA combo. its very good for denying farm and also being incredibly useful and teamfight oriented late game.
