why do i have to be so worried someone is going to troll my game every game in the summer

i don't get it. like i go on a massive win-streak 3 days ago. every game i had people who were willing to cooperate and play their best. i go from s5 no lp to s4 100 LP.

then, for the last 7 games in a row i've gotten the most un-cooperative, ragy, ruin the game from champ select types of people. im getting so sick of it. and here's the kicker. i can't get mad. no because if i get mad i get reported and i get punished by riot for being toxic. so no. i just have to be quiet, take the LP loss like its no big deal, and pretend that i dont hate every single one of these edge-lords thats sitting there polluting this game.

All these kids that are off, their not trolls necessarily. I don't think there's any higher percent of them trying to lose the game then there is at any other time. The problem is many of them haven't yet developed the social skills needed for proper teamwork and/or have a poor understanding of strategy.

exactly this. yesterday i was supporting a caitlyn why didnt try the slightest to lasthit, and we were 2v1 (caitlyn + sona vs ashe) becasue their support (which was a reksai of all people) was afk. guess what, 5 minutes in she got a double kill. caitlyn didnt talk once in chat. obviously we lost the game. they dont want to ruin your game, but they do it anyway. and blaming them is not fair. the ones to be blamed are their parents who let them play... but you cant do anything about it. so, i either find 4 other people to make a team that we can have fun with, or no league for the summer.

I just played a bot game and somone who was jungling reported me for bad behaviour because i killed the dragon ........really???? He claimed it was "his" and i got a warning......... This community are so toxic its not odd new poeple run away after the first game.

So, just now. Queued up for ranked game after a long vacation. Duo (3rd and last pick) started freaking out in champ select because 2nt pick took adc (they were a..... shudder.... "bot duo").

Dodged it. Already seeing lots of "*"s in chat.

So now I have time to kill. I remembered this fine thread and came to post.

I had a game yesterday where a Gnar and Talon instalocked and said "jung go AP please", after we had a higher pick say he was going Azir mid. I ended up dodging because the guy pick Talon into Jayce mid, WW jungle, Malphite top, Sivir ADC, and Janna supp. I was tempted to play just to watch him squirm and be useless, but i decided it wasnt worth losing IP. But what I really thought was funny was nobody even said jungle in chat, meaning there was no jungle mains. The fact that they not only thought they had a given right to the solo lanes, but also that anyone in soloqueue should be able to play an AP jungler (which is basically Diana right now) is just entitlement on a ridiculous level.

Sad part is with Gnar and Azir we could have made a great comp around it.

Bullshit. 90% of the people I see go top (which is my best lane by far) feed. Almost all of my games top I get fed and contribute a ton to the team. You're telling me I don't have a right to go top every, or almost every game? That's basically saying I don't have the rights to win a game, or even ENJOY the game.

The problem is that most duo bots will jump into chat trying to hold champ select hostage just to go duo bot. Being first pick as an adc/sup main when there's a duo bot in que is a freaking nightmare.

Riot punishes the wrong people. You know who reports people for negative attitude? The Trolls. because they anger the other GOOD players in the first place. They don't care. They don't rage, so they'll never be reported with Negative attitude, or leaving the game. They'll never be punished either because their crimes are so abstract that a mechanical system could never find them.

I watched my friend go from silver 2 to silver 5, from a huge loss streak and despite losing he did very well 3/4 of the time. Unfortunately league is a team game so one person can bring all others down

If your friend belongs in silver 2 he wouldn't have lost all the way to silver 5 despite trolls. I'm not great at league but I've managed to get to silver 1 pretty easily even with troll games.

Jungle role is hell during this time for multiple reasons, I love the jungle role, i main that role constantly in ranked, but i've been starting to drift away from it and go to the bot lane because of this. Every game there's at least one person who will completely feed and lose before the five min mark to their laner as i'm leaving to recall or ganking bot lane. The amount of top lane and ADC mains i've seen rage this month is just crazy.

Problem is MMR Really has nothing to do with you as a person, it's literally "This team won? That obviously means they're better players, both individually, as a group, and in character, because our system says so. Here, have some MMR" and "This team lost? That certainly didn't have anything to do with the two trolls and 1 afk on that team, no loss prevention for them. No sir, they were obviously just less skilled than the other players and their loss reflects that. No LP for you."

The system does absolutely nothing to exclude trolling, hypercarrying, and afk's from invalidating it's results. AFK's are approaching 40% of my loss rate at the moment, and I have a friend who peaked low plat and now floats in gold for fun that could easily carry me there if I asked him to.

But I won't, because that's enabling the broken system that is your INDIVIDUAL "matchmaking rank"

Until Riot actually does something to make individual metrics and skill as they pertain to a team-based MOBA relevant in your MMR, all MMR will ever be is a derived statistic of your competitive W/L record.

Or getting a top-laner without Teleport, especially if they end up feeding despite having an Ignite advantage or stealing ADC away from me and feeding.

All those champions you mentioned are not only somewhat viable, but in some cases, and especially in some late game cases, can actually carry a game, such as veigar. Plus you mentioned sona twice.

Play safe early, zone with E, farm up AP.

Hit 6, erase lane opponent (Who is probably playing over aggressive by now)...Do it again once ult is up, they calm down and the lane is yours.

Yep, I decided to go try hard mode about a month back to get the rewards for being gold again. I was Silver IV and climbed up to Silver I in my promos maining Vlad with a 75% win ratio.

The last week, where most kids are out on summer break now, my win ratio has dropped to 60% and I'm just ping ponging back and forth with massive win and lose streaks in Silver I, going no where.

I can assure you my level of play has not diminished at all, so I wonder what the cause is?

Nah, in my experience toxic people still manage to be toxic when winning. In fact, they probably suffer about a 6% drop in their winrate because they throw games that would have been won by going on a 5 minute tirade over one single misplay.

Nah, the dude's right. Some people are toxic as hell at first, and then when they start to win they finally shut up. Some people are perfectly fine until they start losing, and at that point they start berating everyone. The fact that the match outcome in and of itself can bring the worst out of people is sort of uncanny.

This is it.

I played a ranked game today for the first time in ages and I was last pick and was forced to play supp, which is not a problem.

My adc and the jungle were nice and the jungle did carry despite being slightly cocky, but the mid laner and the top laner was toxic and unpleasant for most of the game. We actually won the match and when it was clear we were going to win, they were nice and positive, but the most thing about the community is not the trolls, it's that probably 40% of the 'normal players' are potential afk/flamers.

It's this way every summer. The troll percentage goes way up when the kids are playing on accounts that their parents paid for - they don't take the game as seriously since they haven't personally invested anything into their accounts.

The only real fix is to be more strict on the toxicity or enact a monthly fee to play. Many parents wouldn't pay for yet another game subscription and you'd see the toxic children dissipate.

That's not to say that there aren't polite kids and toxic adults. I'm simply saying that the rate of trolls goes up during the summer due to massive influx of kids onto the servers.

I actually climb more during the summer if you don't mind grinding. You will win more games due to trolls than the one that you will lose but don't expect to keep any wining streak, as is almost impossible.
