its like people don't understand that just because a champion doesn't call a certain lane their home, that they can't be picked in that lane.

i don't take darius mid to troll. i take darius mid to shut down melee ranged assassins.

contrary to popular belief, assassins are not the only counter to other assassins. and if you're one of those people who attacks someone for picking what they feel comfortable with in a matchup, you're an awful person and are part of the problem.

I'm not saying you can't have fun while playing ranked, but it's kinda shitty to legit not care if you lose a game when it effects other people's rank. That's all I'm saying, either way do what you want lol

I mean of course I play game to win but some of these people got too attach to it, they literally eat, sleep and breath league points. I played since season 1 and never rage once just because I view this game as a game and nothing more.

Galio is one of my favorite mids.

Nautilus is my second.

And Gangplank is my third (or usual) pick for mid lane.

The only thing keeping Galio from being the best mid in the game is his high early mana costs. If you survive the first few levels, you are golden. He has amazing waveclear and one of the best teamfight ults in the game. I have an almost 80% win rate with him ranked.

Ashe isn't a TERRIBLE top, she just farms there, freezing the lane forever, kiting/disengaging if you try to go all ham, and then suddenly late game turns around and she's a monster.

Unless it's an assassin top like Tryndamere Irelia Fiora Jax Riven who will jump her, rip her apart, and then spend the rest of the game getting fed off of everyone's favorite frost archer.

Not to mention that it's one less frontline fighter on your team, and unlike most tops, ashe isn't capable of handling herself in a 1v1. At least Quinn can take care of herself for the most part, I despise people who take other ADC's top because late game it's another person the tank/support has to babysit.

Your team had Vayne Top, Ezreal ADC, and Rengar JG. The enemy team's teamfight was already 1,000% stronger than yours. You need to look at what the team needs as well as what your lane needs.

Agreed. I can't stand people who take Quinn top and don't even bother building defense when the team has a mage support and an assassin jungler. It's inconsiderate to deny your team a proper frontline just because you want to have an easy laning phase.

People like to play champions to maximize their main role. If you play a 'meta' ADC champion and purchase items that don't maximize their AD, AS, or Crit % you're clearly a troll. I think that kind of mentality is the reason people say the League community is so toxic. Everyone forgets the fact that it's a free to play game. You don't need to take everything so seriously. Have fun!

It depends on the champion. If you one to play ranked, you must aim to win the game (if you just want to have fun, go play normals, that's why they exist, for you to have fun without aiming to win).

Ok, you want to win a game, let's go play ranked.

Do you want to play AP Kog'Maw? Fine, it is viable and has his strengths and weaknesses like every other champion. Do you want to play AP Malphite? The same, it's fine. Do you want to play AP Varus? The same again. In fact, AP Varus is AMAZING. Do you want to play AP Zed? You are a troll. There is literally nothing an AP Zed can do better than a "standard" Zed would. Do you want to play AP Caitlyn? The same, she has only two AP-scaling abilities and none of them are reliable if you want to do damage (which is the only reason you would buy AP). So you are a troll. Do you want to play Teemo? Deserved permaban.

Jarvan Mid is more convincing than Darius mid, but I do agree, in certain matchups I can understand why someone would bring a Darius mid

I consider AD Darius more of a dive tank, kind of like a kamikaze into the backline and try to wreck as much havoc as possible before you eventually die, but with all that focus you have kind of done the job of a tank as well.

To be a tank, you have to provide something that makes you worth actually being targetted. Maokai makes it that much harder to take down his team between his damage reducing Ult and light CC. Nautilus locks down your entire team with slows and roots. And Darius? Darius left alone will cleave his way through your entire team between ramping damage and repeatable execute.

I get your point, but League isn't just about winning lanes.

Mages and Assassins provides the team with burst or wave clear that can't be done with other archetypes of champions. Melee Bruisers pretty much beats everyone else in lane; however, they compensate it with a weaker late game. It's fine that you may pick Darius to counter a Zed or Talon, but you cannot stop that Zed or Talon to assassinate your ADC in a teamfight unless you absolutely shut him down in lane. While on the other hand, your team will have two top lane champions that can't dish out on demand burst such as Lux's laser or game changing CCs such as Orianna's shockwave.

Besides, there are plenty of alternatives to countering assassins that is also generally played mid. Morgana can force any melee assassins to back off with her ult, and Galio is essentially immune to burst damage early game.

Malphite (tank), Jarvan or Riven have been played at LCS as mid.

In fact, LCS "pros" can be quoted saying things like "you can play almost every champion at solo lane, it will work". Keane (the one who picked Urgot mid against Zed) said recently that you can play almost every top at mid and vice versa, and it will work.

I main mid and I love playing "weird" things, usually because they are strong against popular picks (Pick Jarvan or Urgot and enjoy wrecking Zeds), because they are too oppressive (full AP Malphite or tank Cho'Gath) or just because people don't know how to handle them (Quinn). And I usually have a good time winning my lane easily and thus, giving a great advantage to my whole team (For example, killing and denying farm to the enemy assassin so they can't afford items, and they can't kill my carry. My carry just doesn't care about the enemy assassin anymore, because they won't shut them down fast enough to be a threat).

If they say you are a troll at champion select, they will call you a troll the whole game even if you are 100/-1/100.

I have had games where I picked a "non-traditional" champion, I carried a team of feeders (things like myself being 20/0 and our team overall being 20/30) and still they called me troll...

Then I get a double vs the enemy top and jungle and I snowball to 9/0 when roaming and I 1v3'd their mid, top, and jungle at one point

Yi has one of the weakest laning phases.

No good base damages, mana-hungry, no escapes.

There is a reason he is taken as a jungler.

Only place I can make Yi lane work is on my smurf.

His E gives him +10% AD, which makes last hitting under tower a breeze, he is only mana hungry if you spam your Q (which you shouldn't as a lane Yi), and W's damage reduction and heal make him deceptively survivable in early level all-ins.

He can trade really well by proccing Double strike with E active for a potent split second trade for ~200% AD as well.

Yi isn't amazing in lane, but he isn't that bad at all (he actually counters some assassins like Zed).

I've seen it work a couple times, I assume it's just because you get a couple minutes of your lane opponent wiffing spells into your Q/W, and hopefully you've carved out a lead before they wisen up.

Yeah, whenever I lane as Yi, I don't pick him to bully my opponent or anything, I focus on getting every single last hit (my usual goal is to miss no more than 3-4 creeps before my first back when I buy brutalizer and boots). Yi doesn't get ahead from a lot of early kills on his opponent, he gets ahead by out farming and getting kills in the mid game.

My main Support is JarvanIV and people don't understand how good it is, an AOE attack speed steroid is strong for harass, and he can trap a non mobile ADC like Jinx so his team can dog pile. And imagine the combos with MissFortune ult
