Teemo

Q blinds Garen's Q if timed perfectly.
Can constantly stay in range to harass Garen during laning phase.
Garen does not deal true damage if Teemo isn't the villain.

Darius

Can harass Garen easily with a proper positioning Q whenever Garen comes in close to CS.
Can easily stick to Garen to deal more damage by using W or E after Garen used his Q.
Negates Garen's bonus Armor gain from his W passive since Darius deals Armor Penetration with his E & deals True Damage with his ult.

I wouldn't really consider either of them broken... Strong, sure, but not broken.

Garen usually has trouble fighting strong Duelists early on. Teemo and Darius can turn an early advantage into a painful game for Garen. Just keep in mind while both do well against Garen they don't actually counter him. If Garen cheeses out a lead he can handle either of them without problem.

How? Blind the Q, kite away with W. Buy a Rylai's and it's even easier. The only way a Garen should kill a Teemo in lane is through the stupidity of the Teemo player or lack of vision. That's it.

You don't kill him easily, he's a tank. However, you easily harass and outfarm to win.

It does work, it's just not a hard counter. You don't trade with him, you force him to sit top and run through your shrooms if he wants to do anything to you.

When it comes to top lane you don't have to win and get kills, you just have to be more useful than the enemy top laner to your team. Forcing the enemy top laner to stay top all game when they clearly don't want to is being more useful.

So set up your shrooms in a way that minions won't hit them, but Garen will if he tries to do anything to you. Don't trade. Just run from him and spam laugh. If he chases too far and hits too many shrooms you can simply burst him down.

And above all buy fully upgraded boots early. The whole thing relies upon you outrunning him.

True damage is only agains villain. 4/5 players in ur team will take physical damage from him. Just dont go near him as villain and thats it. Also in lane he doesnt do true damage as u arent viillaon and trundle counters him nicely, especially from lvl 6. Trundle has huge sustain, steal his defenses, his ad which garen doesnt build alot. Grasp of the undying wins u trades, and u can outrun him. Early on laning if he usrs q just put pillar between u and when he hits minion go in bite him and smack him few times. Gnar with frozen mallet can kite him to etermity and there is mothing haren can do about it. Pantheon can destroy him and zone him out of cs completely. Lulu wrecks him and he cant do anything about it. Quinn and graves shit on him. Jayce can bully him, as garen has no tools vs him. Teemo destrots him. May god have mercy on garen that faces this beast Olaf . And if all else fails unbench the kench

Really, maybe vayne. but trundle ww and kennen dont seem like counters. Wouldn't you say garen is just a tad op though? Like, true damage and a 30 second ult, plus a passive warmogs?

Nope, Trundle is an exact counter against him. Build sunfire into botrk first and Trundle will naturally do more damage then Garen lol. Unless Trundle is the villian which he shouldnt be if hes playing solotop. blessed, you cant become the villian if you kill Garen anymore.

I just locked a Garen outta CS and roaming with Trundle. After I killed him his team started tossing 3-4 top to kill me. My team of useless never took advantage of that and were already losing so we lost that anyway.

The way he moved his Garen around after seeing how lil he did in the trade and how much I healed up ... I could almost see his face.

Anyway, last I check Naut does well against him. I have laned against one before as Garen ... boring and neither of us died cause neither of us had the dmg to kill the other and we were both building tanky.

dont "seem" like counters, because you dont understand why.

trundle is a counter bruiser bruiser. he steals resistances and health from his opponents and turns it into his own strength. guess what garen likes to stack.

trundle should win lane matchups against almost any bruiser.

As a Garen main, right now at least, my least favorite matchup is against Pantheon. When I have to fight Garen, however, I play Nasus. Garen can't do much without help from his team once Nasus starts snowballing on minions.

Im a garen main and i can say the best way to be garen is to get an early lead. Certain champs especially benefit from this. Quinn darius naut teemo graves trundle shen pantheon fiora gnar can all make garens life hell and if they get a early gank from jungle garen cant ciomeback till lvl 16 unless your team fucks up and gglives him some kills

All depends on the player. I've countered him with toplane smite Shyvanna, with Trundle(because Trundle can stat-check any champion once he hits 6), Warwick, AP Sejuani, many ranged champions....Hell, I've beaten Garen with Vlad before. I'm sure if I worked at it, I can whip a Garen player's ass with AP Alistar or Illaoi even.

34 second ult? It'll never get below 44, which is his Level 3 Ult at 45%CDR. Chances are, you're trying to counter him in laning phase, and by then he only has 20-30% which would put him at 84-96s or 70-80s depending on level.
