How to carry bronze (the real answer)

The thing no one tells bronze players is that you have to make your choice based off of the team that gets picked for you. Dont play a "carry". Play a champion that can carry the team you have against the team you are facing. Udyr can carry, but dont pick him on a team with no ranged waveclear or anti-seige potential. Especially if an enemy is playing tristana or another siege champion with a jana support.

So when I see a mord support, fizz mid, tryn top and fidd jg, I think I will 100% have to fend for myself because none of those champions are team players. I cant pick draven into this team. Oh look, theres an enemy malaphite and pantheon. Ill have to clear waves and push lanes when my team is doing all the things they need to do to prepare to throw the next team fight. I can tell they are going to let panth and malaphite group on them and we can loose the game that way. So Ill pick whatever will allow me to stop that from happening.

So I pick tristana adc and split the whole time because the enemy picked a malaphite, pantheon, zillean. I know I dont have to push a tower every time I split. I know I just need to keep their team from grouping. I keep a constant watch on the minimap and go wherever I can to prevent the enemy from grouping mid. If my teammates look like they want to chase someone like ekko. I know it will be a long and deadly chase so I abandon them to push mid lane. When they eventually get fucked by malaphite, the dmg to our tower is minimal because I have just pushed every lane and they have to send someone to me. But Ive already backed and my team is respawning. Disaster averted.

What exactly do you mean by carry champions? Not azir or draven right? I think its more about predicting how can the game go poorly for your team and doing something about it in champ select.

I think the reason a lot of ppl, including me, get salty is because we pick champions we like, rather than picking champions that can work together. You dont have to pick a wombo combo to win, but you do need to pay attention to the team comp that is forming as champ select progresses.

I would also add that I have had tremendous amount of success this season escaping bronze because I actually played almost all the champions to learn their strong and weak points (as well as abilities in general.) It helped me to counterpick and learn how to pressure them appropriately in game. Only in silver now but moving up pretty quickly the last month

Yea. I made a mistake trying to learn one champion one role. I focused on learning adc. It didnt help me understand the flow of the game at all.

After you get certain knowledge on all roles, focusing on two seems good idea though.

Or just play Zil support every game. After getting put in B2 from placements and pulling my hair out trying to adjust to new meta I just gave up and spammed him support every game. Was out of Bronze two days later.

So the lesson here is, play uncommon champs (he hadn't seen LCS play yet) and take advantage of the lack of game knowledge in Bronze. Your way works too but it will take longer.

Meh this is only to an extent. I used to play a ton of ADC when I was still in bronze before I realized that as an ADC, you can't carry the game unless you get ahead because of your support or your jungler. The support makes the ADC. If they don't make plays to get you kills, you don't get ahead. If you don't come out of laning phase ahead than you are out of luck.

This is why I started to play support Soraka. You still have a decent high chance of getting a terrible ADC who just stands still and eats harass in the face, but you have heals to reduce the chances of him dieing and you have an amazing late game which greatly increases the chances of your team winning.

Course none of this matters when games are over at the 10 min marker. Snowballing happens so quickly now and a clear leader is determined before 2 towers fall.

Team comp is less important in bronze than in any other division.

And plenty of people play a single champ all the way to diamond.

The real way to carry bronze is just not be terrible and get free kills off bronze players acting like idiots, then snowball.

and then you have the 3 AD assassin, zero CC teams in plat who wonder why they're losing.
