@Meddler: Why does the new Warwick still have suppression?

A long time ago, I'm pretty sure you guys said you were working toward removing suppression from the game by reworking suppression champs, and replacing it with more balanced forms of crowd control.

I guess this philosophy changed?

I'm not aware of a stated goal of removing suppression that we've talked about in the past. Current take is that suppression's a useful tool to have to make some CCs more reliable than they'd otherwise be. There's some risk of removing too much counterplay when using it certainly though that should be compensated for in other ways (r.e. unreliability via a skillshot in Warwick's case, long CDs for all the forms of suppression I can think of, lack of range on Skarner etc).

Hey Med since u here, Why does WW still do magic damage with all his skills, and worse now none scale with AP?

Doesn't this severly limit choice with items?

And is this set in stone or is it open to change?

Yeah, this is dumb and should've been addressed.

why did you feel the need to change his ult to a skill shot that can be blocked? Especially considering it's an ult

i thought his old ult being point and click was one of the "iconic" things about ww

is it possible malz may see a similar change in the future?

if not, why was it necessary for ww and not malz?

The supression is iconic, the point-click isn't. Considering suppression can't be reduced by Tenacity, I assume the skillshot change is to give it some counterplay.

Malzahar isn't meant to stay in the thick of enemy teams while ulting, he's meant to catch them alone or straying too far from help. Warwick is meant to be diving right into packs of enemies, which is why he is CC immune while dashing and gets heavy sustain while the ability is in effect. Malzahar can stay safely away poking until the time is right to finish them off.

all 3 champions with a suppress are point and click and have been up until now

point and click ranged cc is the first thing people think of when talking about WW

5, actually. Tahm's devour, when used on enemy champions, is a suppression.

I'm pretty sure I remember someone mentioning VERY early on that you guys were reworking Warwick's R into a stun.

Oh hey I even found the Reddit thread from 2 years ago. And he even says in it: "Plus 2.5s stun! (Oh yes, suppression is BS. That's a topic for a different thread tho ;P) "

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/232dan/warwick_rework_teaser_e_boomerang_move_block_from/

His boards name is apparently "ZenonTheStoic"

EDIT: I scrolled down and found:

"This is a good point! I thought mostly about cleanse (which isn't really a thing anymore I guess), but yeah, the tenacity's a tough one. I can technically set a flag in the stun to make it ignore tenacity, but should I? I'll ponder on that question (read: corner CertainlyT at 3am and have a much too long conversation with him. Poor CertainlyT.)"

So it wasn't just a wording thing. You guys were discussing making it a stun potentially reduced by tenacity.

Dumb question but what exactly is suppression, and how many other abilities have it?

its basically a stun, but suppression cannot be countered by tenacity as tenacity does not affect suppression, however, it can be countered by CCing the character that casts it.

generally suppression is a channelled stun.

Vi ultimate is still Broken op. Where is the counter play in cc Immunity right before applying a Suppression

I doubt that since you already missed the Malzahar rework in which he kept Suppression. I mean Suppression is already pretty balanced since it locks out both champions.

Except AD champions have a get-out-of-jail free item against it, and AP get jack.

It's a dumb mechanic.

and warwick didn't get to do jack to AP champions when it was on cooldown

now you can dodge it, or aim your CC on yourself if you can't avoid the jump
