Where does AD Tank Fizz's Damage Come From?

I keep seeing this done where Fizz goes top but goes Ad and Tank, and then somehow he's still doing lots of damage.

Does he have anything that scales with AD? I'm not familiar with Fizz all that much so I'm just wondering where all this damage is coming from if he built a mix of AD and tank..

its the passive damage on hit from his W

Seastone Trident

PASSIVE: Fizz rends enemies on-hit, and those affected by Chum the Water's lure or shark, dealing them magic damage over 3 seconds, and marking them for 6 seconds. TOTAL MAGIC DAMAGE: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 40% AP) ACTIVE: Fizz's next basic attack deals bonus magic damage. If the target has been marked for at least 2 seconds, the damage dealt is tripled. 「 BONUS MAGIC DAMAGE: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 40% AP) 」

that 60 bonus on-hit damage is a lot... that's almost literally a full AD item's worth of on-hit damage, that's usually why AD fizz builds triforce first. it has the atk speed, the sheen proc, the cdr, the move speed. all annoying stuff on fizz. not only that but his Q also applies that 60 bonus magic damage on hit....

gut the cancer fish.

His q applies all on-hit effects and 100% of his AD. Its basically an auto attack that turns into a targeted dash with an ap ratio for good measure. His W is an auto attack reset with hefty base damage and good scaling when he lands the active correctly. All of this means that he synergizes quite well with anything that builds out of sheen. He also gets a lot of mileage early game out of dark seal due to his high scalings. Honestly, his kit fits a fighter more than it fits an assassin which means people will build him as such when they can get away with it.

If you're up for some cheese, Garen works quite well into fizz. The silence screws him over in a big way.

His base dmg is high that's why

He doesn't get any bonuses from building AD. It simply gives him a lot of mixed damage because of currently high base damages, mixed damage being extremely good early game.
