The Ideal Balanced Mid Lane Assassin(s)

Zed Talon HE PUT ZED IN AS A BALANCED ASSASSIN!!!! shot Nerf q energy cost so he has to think about using it.

Moving on. I like these 2 assassins for 2 reasons each. Talon: He is an assassin (probably the most textbook assassin in the game). Hes not some guy that jumps in on any joe bloggs, kills him, moves on to the next. And the next... (Katarina). If talon goes in, hes either coming out through a pile of 7 or 8 bodies after a teamfight, or not at all, unlike Zed, if talon cannot finish his target when he goes in (usually quickly) hes practically useless. And second, his mobility isn't exceptionally noteworthy, considering his only dash/gap closer puts him really deep, with no way at all of dashing out (typically, although dashing to a minion can happen, its really unlikely that it will). -My only gripe with Talon is how linear his gameplay is, while it's somewhat made up for in strategic difficulty, if he does reach the "/del all.exe" stage, it's really underwhelming.

Zed: He is also an assassin. hes not really going to be killing 3 people in even 2 rounds of burst, he focuses on one. The difference between him and talon however, is talon assassinating is usually faster (assuming both parties are even in terms of gold etc) and easier, but Zed's is safer. Zed will typically needs some measure of competency to go in and a) not die, and b) get the kill/enough for ult to finish it. Furthermore, Zed pays with his mobility in that it's split into two parts, setting it up, and then actually dashing, so he is somewhat easier to react to than other champions with some rather..frequent dashes (Yasuo) -As prementioned i think Zed's Q energy cost is too small, fixing this with just a little increase of 10-20 should be enough.

Reasons I don't like certain assassins. (you may notice certain similarites) Akali : 3 dashes seems to defeat the theme of an assassin, assassins go in and get the job done, they don't leave room for error. 3 dashes leaves room for error. Twice. Katarina : In all honesty, Katarina probably doesnt care who the ADC or mid laner is, she'd go for whoever is lowest/with the least resistances. Moves away from the: Kill the high priority target. To: Kill anything so i reset Fizz : I never liked Fizz. Trollpole and ridiculous Q damage felt obscene. Now that riot nerfed a LOT, I simply don't like Fizz cos trollpole (ie: hes annoying). Trollpole feels similar to Akali dashes in that we have an assassin with room for error. Not much else to say here. Kassadin : Easy escape mechanic, but in all honesty I'm not actually sure if Kassadin is an assassin. Riot reckons he is (Primary role), but he seems to fit somewhere in between mage and assassin.

And finally, Leblanc : I really don't know. At points I think the dashes are ludicurous on an assassin, but LeBlanc's theme is deception, which can fit within an assassin theme (confuse and confound, then go in for the kill). Mixed feelings, but at least she's balanced, if you forced a decision on me I'd put her in with Zed+Talon.

TL;DR We only have 3 proper assassins (as far as thematics are concerned), give Zed a reason to at least stop for 1/2 a second an think before spamming q, and we're golden.

And before I get castrated, this is my opinion, but feel free to try and change my mind, i enjoy good discussions ^^

yes because zed W R dont leave a shit fuck ton of room for error, atleast with akali if you make an error you die with zed you just click R and poof you go to safety

If you haven't assassinated someone in a teamfight as zed you must be god awful, and that will be all your cooldowns, so sure you might live, but you failed your job miserably. This is about assassinating, not surviving, think about whether or not your comment is relevant before you drop it please
