Why doesn't red trinket auto upgrade at level 9?

It's totally free to upgrade anyway, and it seems like the new yellow was made because people were too dumb to upgrade so wouldn't it make sense to make it red as simple as possible too?

I think it's because of how it functions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the upgraded red only scan centered on you, while the default red can scan a distant bush? That functionality difference might be why it doesn't auto upgrade.

The distance is less than it is when it's scanning around you. Why only scan one tiny spot when you can run around and scan multiple bushes? It's a self nerf to keep the old trinket.

and the upgrade reveals units you can't see due to stealth or bush cover, so fk that

I KNOW. So frustrating that you need to go b to spend 0 gold on something that is the only option to upgrade from the Sweeper anyway.

Because that would have required actual thought and rito is known to always be behind the common sense curve.

This was my first question when the new trinket design was made and I noticed it didn't auto upgrade when you hit level 9...I think I even posted it here a few months ago too.

Because the not upgraded one has range and the upgraded one doesnt I guess.

The range is the same as being able to place a ward. It is negligible at best.
