Simple question concerning assassins

Riot states in their patch 6.3 notes that assassins were in some sort of dire need for a nudge into the current meta, therefor the duskblade.

Is it just me that felt like assassins were already pretty much stomping mid lane?

I mean c'mon. Who was stupid enough to believe that removing mana pots and nerfing ap items wouldn't mean the imminent return of AD assassins? I found it pretty obvious that increasing zhonya's price by 500 was going to hinder Ap mid laners in an AD assassin matchup.

So why the item?

I'm just not seeing the logic here, maybe I'm just trash.

i want to try duskblade with full ad JarvanIV can't o and ap maged have allot over ad assassin late game

mhm, well kinda i mean talon is the only ad assassin in the top 30 highest winrate (i know winrate doesn't mean a lot but i think its better than opinions). Zed has the 38th highest winrate and well yasuo is down there in 84. I think dominating isnt really a good word tbh they are pretty mediocre but people seem to overhype them due to them being solo q stompers

the item is there because an ad assassins have a much worse late game than their ap counterparts in many cases so what this item is there for, is to help them snowball early, not saying this item will guarantee them snowball, but it help them not be useless come late game. AD Assassins also have an issue with itemizations with the removal of last whisper, so this kind of helps as well.

Tanks/Fighters/Bruisers/Juggs rise to power. ADCs rise to power to deal with them. Assassins rise to power to deal with ADCs. Kayle rises to power to judge the Assassins on their poor decision to rise at all.

And the cycle goes on.

Mages are dominating mid lane like they always have except for season 3. You just see a lot of Zed, Yasuo, etc. because they are fun to play and a lot of people play them
