Aatrox's Jungle Efficiency is way down for an obvious reason post-rework

His passive is only up for 4 seconds. This doesn't affect his laning anywhere near as much since you can control the stacks and activate the passive on demand when trading and then it auto-refreshes on dealing or taking damage from champs.

Proposed solution: Let monsters apply the refresh rule as well but instead maintain Blood Rush at 50% Blood Well instead so it can't be easily carried between camps.

His efficiency actually was hurt greatly by the lack of triple healing to negate monster damage effectively in a few hits, along with the free overall attack speed bonus. His passive doesn't boost camp clears a whole ton if you do testing on proc'ing it for every camp.

If you do want to use Aatrox, take Blood Price and leave it on while clearing everything. Take Refill potion (and don't use it until after smiting), start red and go to Raptors. Should be taking Q lv2 for CC against the camps so you can clear one high damage small Raptor out and be able to kite back a bit as you finish off the rest. Take full attack speed marks/quint.

And please, DO NOT TAKE BLOODRAZOR. It might help you for jungle clears and pushing towers by yourself but it will not help you for ganks or boost your power level to a decent level. 50% AS is not as important as 60 AD and 10% CDR if you've included the AS in your runes. Leveling your poke skill instead of W first is also what we've seen on Mundo succeed, so only max W if you know Chilling Smite is enough to chase.

His clear speed if you do the strategy is fine, but he just has not enough kill pressure since his damage nerf. You're gonna need to rely on your laners, and that's not a fun ride very often. If they buff his decay to not fall-off as fast, then you can stack off of Scuttle before a gank to maximize DPS.

Additional Info:

Since you go massive attack speed runes, obviously Warrior gives you AD to balance it out. Hence get warrior.

Get red smite always. You're a duelist and the damage reduction is way too important to miss out on.

He'll still be a shitty jungler because he can't reliably proc his bloodwell for tower dives as a jungler. That's pretty much all Aatrox jungle was good for, and know that his risk free diving is gone, there's simply no reason to pick him jungle.

He was never an efficient jungler at any point in his existence, there is nothing old aatrox could do that master yi, udyr, and graves couldn't do much much much much much much MUCH! better then him. Hell even tryndamere jungle is far superior to old aatrox jungle.

That could be applied to top lane as well. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to be a jungler.

He actually had a higher winrate jungle than top and there are some challenger level players who played him in jungle

If he's left alone in the early game to farm to his item breakpoints he can actually be very strong, the jungle is a safer environment to farm in than top lane.

There was one thing he did better than any other jungle champion. Solo epic monsters. I've surprised enemy teams many times with a 20 minute solo baron on Aatrox. He never had to leave the jungle, never took pots and just cleared until he could buy whatever he wanted because of his self healing. If you got an opportune gank or two off you got the items you needed for baron solos. It's kinda cheesy, but he's the only one that could do it.

Xin Zhao is also really good at this.

But Riot said during preseason that they're actively suppressing the farming jungle strategy.

I'm ok with reverting to old trox, but if not, and Ive been saying this for a while now, make the passive refresh like Vi's Denting Blows and make it only 3-4 stocks required for Blood Rush.

Overall he feels weaker than before the changes, his passive is all but useless in the jungle, forcing him to lane, where he's still one of the weakest around. He can't lane as safely as before because he only gets his revive during 4 seconds of bloodrush, which doesn't help you at all if you're running for the cover of your tower and only have 2 stacks. He doesn't heal as much when he's low making his chances of surviving an all in lower. He has no way of prepping for a teamfight by stacking bloodwell out of combat because it just goes away after a few seconds. He no longer gains passive attack speed with his bloodwell, something that's pretty critical for his survival. Now his gameplay feels much clunkier, before it was at least smooth even if he was weak, now he's weak and awkward to play. He's pigeonholed into a position where he is weaker because the passive is useless in the jungle. All of the strengths that Aatrox players used to play around have been either removed or smashed into a 4 second window that is difficult to proc if you're not in a lane during lane phase. Good job Rito, you took the worst champ in the game and made him even worse, I hope you unfuck yourselves before his big rework comes out.
