Yuumi's like if Abathur died

Anyone who knows HoTS knows what I'm talking about. Abathur is basically the same concept as Yuumi, attaching to an ally and helping them but the important difference is...

Abathur cannot die. Abathur is always sitting in base. What Yuumi is is basically if Abathur were guaranteed to die when his attached ally died.

This kind of mechanic does work in a MOBA. But not the way they've done it with Yuumi.

Hell, it could even be made to match her lore/teaser even more closely by having the book remain in base while she travels through it to allies. And back when they die.

The big difference is more that aba does creat alot map pressure especially on big maps as he passively soaks exp and pushes waves while simultaniously hopping on allies with global range, and in order to creat preassure and soak as much exp as possible, he needs to take some risks aswell. Also, some assasins like Zeratul can hunt him down even when he's in a normaly save place cause he's damn squishy with no defensive tools once you find him.

HotS and LoL work quit a bit different, especially in terms of supportive champs because of the shared exp system and no CSing/gold/items, and Abatthur works quite different from yummi, he's more like an urf shen with Zz'rot portal...

Good Abbys soak EXP and don't just sit in base.

Yuumi is done just fine. but most folks run awfull rune and item build on her currently so shes not gonna look that great.

This is just fine imo. Leave it be let folks who get the mechanic use her.

I don't get how people complain as if they know Yuumi inside out in the FIRST DAY of her release.

Even more annoyingly, perhaps more infuriatingly, that Riot actually just kneejerk buffed her. Does the countless champ release disasters directly a result of kneejerk buff right after launch not give Riot enough lessons?

i think ur right but I also think Riot intentionally made her weak b/c they didn't kno how strong or weak the attach mechanic would be, its a pretty big game changer as a single mechanic so I think they were trying to be safe. However weather u buff her numbers or not Yuumi just FEELS really weak and ineffective especially compared to other supports until late-mid game when her scalings come online. And this has more to do with how her kit is designed because it really doesn't do much on its own if we aren't looking at numbers, it doesn't do a very good job of SHOWING what it does, and its not the MOST exciting thing, so even if the attach mechanic IS a game changer...watching her sit on a ally doesn't do a gud job of showing it at all.

and then u also run into the issue of a thematic disconnect when u have a champion is very much about teleporting and portals in Lore and then doesn't do that in any way in game, and u get people wishing she did something more along those lines.

If anything id love to see her shield buffed in some way that is more interesting, mechanically, skillfully, or numbers wise...Her shield seems like it could be a big focus on the kit, Id love to see her as some sort of shield focused shield battery support, that could be interesting.

I agree Riot does this a lot, and Imma let you finish, but release Yuumi had the lowest win rate the game has seen in seven years, and even with the buffs her winrates are still sub-40%

And here we are again at the point where gaming Hipsters insist that a terrible weak champion is actually not weak, the mainstream just doesnt know how to use her...

Yea? Isnt that something we see chronically happen with this game? Day 1 release saw players demanding buffs for Yasuo Akali Kaisa Ornn Taliyah AurelionSol All of which died down in a month-ish or less. No joke, some players though Yas was bad and underpowered on release up till some one showed the impact item 3087 made in mids lane phase and folks got his mechanics down.. took.. like 4-5 ish days? Going off memory here so might be painfully inaccurate with the time line.

If you're playing Abathur and never have him leave the base, then you're not actually playing Abathur right.

^.^ Not everybody knows what its like to get EXP crushed by an Abby body soaking top lane and hat soaking bot lane + constantly supporting allies, as his teammates Face smash 4 man comp mid with almost no EXP loss. My metric for Abby succus is how dramatic my Siege and EXP gains are.

Also you got to remember that LOL only players are unlikely to fully understand the impact of Maps HOTS have on Champion Viability.

At first I thought they would make her be able to jump across the map from ally to ally, to aid them. You could put a high cooldown on the jump, or make it low cooldown with a long cast time so she can't use it as an escape. The book wouldn't need to be in base, they can make it like a certain distance away, and the book gradually moves towards her if she goes too far away, or sucks her back in. I dunno, so many possibilities with this, but playing her is just soo boring. The only thing impactful is her ult and the two heals when you wait for an hour for them to charge up. As a cat lover I take offense to the way she was treated.

ye but abathur isn't useless

the problem here is that on hots every team member has the exact same resources, a support in league is never going to be as strong as a support in hots and you can't make yuumi a solo laner that also pops to people.

I completely agree.

I played HoTS only to play abathur and was excited when they were going to release that style of character in this game (especially as a support main). I am really sad to see how bad they did at the champion design. They can hotfix yuumi as much as they want she's going to be bad, to fix her they have to redesign her kit.

I see No reason for Yuumi defensive stats to be dog shit awful like it is when she doesnt transmit them like she does damage stats except for her to be intended to die when the adc dies. And for her to not be able to jump off her adc the same range she jumps on when they do something stupid seems to only be so adcs dont cry i did something stupid and my yuumi jumped off and left me. but its fine for the adc to feed 2 kills because of bad positioning which you cant influence as the yuumi player.
