Time to revert those armor nerfs

I'd like to remind you that the most problematic champions this patch all build at least one defensive armor item, AT LEAST:

Garen Skarner Fiora

And anything that may buff them would make this whole thing even more lopsided.

fiora usually only builds 1 armor item and by lategame. shes still better as a carry. bruiser builds suck on her due to the high ad scaling on her abilities and the low base values.

even triforce is a shitty item on her imo. the on hit damage is massively overrated, crit and attack speed almost completely wasted. she doesnt need the ap either. id rather get more raw ad and deal more true damage upon hitting a vital.

The core build on Fiora is Hydra, BC and then either BT or Randuins, depending on how the teams are going and how fed Fiora is, it is not uncommon to see a Fiora with Hydra, BC, Randuins, Spirit Visage and Dead Mans Plate. And she still smacks for 10% max hp true damage with a weakspot.

Armor buffs would send her already strong bruiser build through the roof.

That's actually true, but well. Max health true damage good mechanic rito

too tanky.

item 3074 item 3071 item 3158 item 3072 item 3156 and item 3026 /item 3742

is my preferred build. it gives you plenty of defense with the health from cleaver, the bloodthirster shield and the magic shield from maw.

why would you ever build a spirit visage over maw? more ad also makes your heal stronger, and you also get to heal your team more. it also makes your auto attacks hit harder (e crits) and increases your true damage.

as far as magic defense goes, maw is just as good, if not better than spirit visage for fiora. with the added benefit of increasing every ad scaling part of your kit, including the heal.

usually she doesnt need much cc reduction like merc treads if you use riposte properly. zerkers are terrible on her since attack speed in general is a sub par choice.

I've tried a lot of builds on her. If I don't get CDR boots I like visage to get closer to the cap. If you have hydra and BT the healing gets so freaking ridiculous. Of course, whenever this happens I'm typically so far ahead I could build a deathcap still kick butt.

I do get merc's if they have enough crowd control to make me use riposte then follow it up with another.

Am I weird for liking item 3139 on her? It really helps to remove some nasty debuffs that you can't/failed to parry (you can't parry everything against a competent team). The raw ad is great and the magic resist is useful.

Going to experiment more with builds and try using different items, so far my build has been: item 3074 item 3072 item 3026 item 3139 item 3022 (though I rarely get to complete it all). My focus has mostly been on practicing mechanics rather than experimenting with builds so far, as my mechanics are terrible.

There's a lot of personal preference/situational items for Fiora I think. I've thought about all those items at one point, I just do what works for me.

Skarner most frequent build: item 3709 item 3111 item 3071 item 3748 item 3143 item 3190 Fiora most frequent build: item 3074 item 3111 item 3071 item 3072 item 3035 item 3026 Garen most frequent build: item 3071 item 3111 item 3742 item 3053 item 3065 item 3075

Garen isn't problematic, his rework as a whole was somewhat of a nerf but buff in regards to his potential, people just aren't used to fighting Garen due to his much much lower play rate before. Garen is still mistakenly regarded as a weak beginner champion and that is why his winrate isn't that extreme. 55% being about what Riot considers the ideal (54% - 55%) winrate.

Skarner, Suprise surpise, got overturned and has power all over the place, and will get nerfed promptly.

Fiora getting supposed nerfs soon, they want to see how she plays out a bit longer.

So while you aren't wrong about defensive items, the armor items getting buffed wouldn't affect any of them, Maybe weaken a bit.

The reason armor got nerfed was rebalance and to allow future armor items to be added so we could stop having the definitive best armor items, and allow all items to be picked.

So while you aren't wrong, they aren't building the tank items, they are building the new Juggernaut items.

i dont get the thornmail. its pretty much worthless without a ton of armor now.

Silents4291 votes

Depends on your perspective, it's great in duels, and giving a little punishment to anyone smacking you in fights, it's not going to outright kill anyone but that was never the point of it, just helps to increase your damage output.

DeusVult1 votes

That Skarner build hurts my eyes

where is the Tri force for procs???? HE HAS THE HIGHEST BASE AD IN THE GAME

item 1321 item 3709 item 3078 item 3742 item 3143 item 3053 is best build

Silents4291 votes

I just pulled out the most frequently used build.

Misplaced Faith1 votes

Something that I'm happy I've never seen any other Fiora do, is rush Statikk Shiv. I do it(almost) every game, and people really underestimate the damage you get from the shiv. Other than that, the build stays relatively the same, minus the GA and the BC. I usually go Shiv, Hydra, BT, Last Whisper, and Mercurial Scimitar. Legit tons of damage.

JavelinJoe1 votes

what makes them hard isn't really there tankiness, it is there dps while being a tank scaling champ. 2 of those 3 do a lot of true damage which is pointless to build armor for anyways. and Skarner scales hp with his w. if they were just tans they could be taen down by an adc or a mid. but they can full out charge the carries to delete them

hgjkdlsaf jeldvb1 votes

but they're all overpowered...

Critmaster Garen4 votes

i agree with thornmail im not sure about the rest.

they nerfed armor on items and compensated tanks directly with increased armor/lvl to make them more distinct from bruisers who are usually buying the same defensive items as them. the idea in concept isnt bad. it just feels like tanks werent compensated enough due to how hard they took a shit on the only real item left that allows tanks to defend against ad carries.

they promised that the new thornmail would be less effective against infinity edge carries, but should be more effective against on hit/attack speed carries like vayne and kallista.

obviously that didnt work. so either buff the hell out of thornmail, nerf bork or better both.

Why not?

Silents4293 votes

Screw that I love the bigger shield on locket and the reduced crit damage on Randiuns now.

can you explain to me why?

Good joke Riot

Now please revert all the changes you've made after Cinderhulk

Remove Fiora/GP/Garen/Morde/Skarner/Darius reworks because you've showed us you can't make a balanced rework if your lives depended on it

Ignis01 votes

Thanks to the armor nerfs and that most champions now rely on HP instead of armor. Quinn now can assassinate tanks.

Do not forget that AD items are going to be reworked too
