Malzahar Changes

I mean, in essence, you just pseudo reverted him. You might as well just revert him at this point. And i say this as someone who has constantly expressed being against the idea of reverting him.

Literally after over a year of mechanical changes and nerfs, he's in a spot which would've been easier to achieve without reworking him.

All they did was spend a year screwing around with a mechanically flawed kit, and now they don't even have the balls to fully revert the champion mechanically and make the equivalent adjustment to his numbers. The end result for AP malzahar would basically be the same, only without sacrificing AD malzahar, and without the persistent looming risk of support malzahar.

@thread They dont have the ability to revert him.

Riot doesnt keep copies of "pre-rework" champions to revert to - its actually impossible due to the way they code. Champions are not modular, but linked to many, many things. If riot wanted to revert a champion completely it would mean saving a backup of the ENTIRE game to roll back to, and re-do every patch since they were reworked. To much work, to much space needed, not enough payout.

Thats why this malzahar "revert" is actually "making him similar to before"; just like the kogmaw "revert".

If champions, hell even items, were properly modular then saving each iteration would be something they could be capable of, and in a well managed and disciplined company EVERY bit of code would be modular and EVERY rework for EVERY champion would be saved in case they need it. But riot isnt well managed and they dont believe in such a thing as "bad coding practices". Every coder, every designer, every artist has their own "way" and theres no one to corral all the different ideas and point them in a single, unified direction.

At this point if riot wants to be able to react to community opinions quickly and accurately... They need to make riot dude arena 2 properly - no spaghetti code, no bad coding practices, no shortcuts, AAA quality. But they wont, i dont even think they have the talent or guidence needed to make a new game that isnt full of unfixable bugs and inflexibility.
