League of a Few Adc's

EDIT: Just want to clarify I know there are metas and such and I know each season there are a couple adcs who are popular. What I'm saying is while there are always gonna be adcs who are popular, in previous seasons I still felt like there was variety. I'd still see unpopular adcs and even champs who aren't adcs go botlane. Now I feel like they've all disappeared, nobody plays them at all. I get that there are popular champs but now it feels like the unpopular ones have all but left the game and it never really felt like that until now.

Anyone notice how so many adc's have just...disappeared?

Someone asked the other day "what happened to Vayne?"

I haven't seen Kog anymore, haven't seen a Trist, can't remember when I saw a Twitch. Hell I haven't even seen a Kalista in a while but maybe that's just me.

It feels like botlane has just become this Lucian MissFortune Caitlyn and if it isn't one of these three its Jhin

I have seen a few Ezreals, sometimes a Varus or a Draven...but I feel like a good portion of adc's have just vanished because everyone has been going adcs who are strong early game....I'm a support main so I'm bot a lot, and even though I'm not the actual adc I still miss the variety....idk, maybe you all have seen different stuff but it has mostly felt like MF, Lucian, and Cait bots. Lucian is almost always picked unless he's banned.

I hope someday something changes to bring back the adcs that have been forgotten..

Current meta is lucian, and anything else is something that counters lucian.

Riot nerfed him a bit, but the changes will take a while to trickle down to lower ranks, due to how tightly they hug the meta-teddy.

This has long been a thing, every season there's always a few ADCs that just outshines the others.

Ever since I parmabanned Lucian before his nerf the fall of Lucian, I'm starting to see just a bit more diversity. Heck, the pool has been pretty diverse since the past few years, if anything.

I'll support them, I don't really mind, seeing as it'll be a difficult lane I like the challenge...I just hope they don't do something stupid like try to engage on the enemy early game out of nowhere....I've had that happen too many times Q.Q

As someone who's played LoL since season 1:

There's usually only 3 popular champions in each lane at any given time.

When Riot shakes up the meta with things like the Marksman itemization changes the community actually tries new things out, but otherwise everyone tries to play the best champion in a given lane, the 2nd best champion, or, bans allowing, the 3rd best champion.

Pretty sure it has a lot more to do with how popularity tends to work than anything else.

You are right about a few ADCs being played, but right now the meta is strongly focused on tanks so the ADCs in meta are; KogMaw Ashe Jinx Vayne Sivir

Because all Riot does is nerf them into oblivion. But they NEVER give real nerfs to Zed Fizz Ekko because theyre worried theyll be nerfed into uselessness. That didnt seem to stop them from destroying Kalista Kindred Jinx

Kog, Ashe, Vayne are actually really good if your adc doesn't get gang banged.

I haven't seen many Vaynes but when I do they are almost always against Lucian or Cait and no matter what I do they get crushed. Vayne is weak early and those 2 champs are strong early and have poke so I haven't seen many Vaynes do well.

If she doesn't die though and cs's she can still be really strong late game but the early game is tough especially with strong early game champs constantly being picked

The trick is to be in plat + and see if they're a Vayne main. IF they are. Level 2 jungle cheese their lane. IT's usually gg if it goes well.

I usually go Jinx but sometimes I go Quinn too. If cait doesn't get picked I'll go her sometimes because I wanted to learn her eventually for when that skin comes back (if it does) but Jinx has always been my main adc. It feels so good when you land that rocket across the map XD

this is what happens when a single adc Lucian becomes a complete monster

and when only a handful of other adcs can even compete with him.

i mean i wouldnt mind people playing adc in other lanes if they werent

a) complete and absolute cancer, and terrible to play against

b) we would see other champion types in place of adc on bot lane, when theyre played mid, jungle or top.

it has to go both ways. if you want to play in our lanes, then we need to make it possible for other classes to play bot without getting destroyed by adc/support comps.

I know there were always champs who were more popular but I feel like there was still more variety than there is now. I know I'd see Vayne and Jinx a good amount and Ezreal, but I'd also see plenty of Kogs and Trists and Twitches and sometimes people got creative and did stuff like Urgot adc or Jayce adc. I'd fight more adcs than others but I was still seeing some of the uncommon ones played...now I don't see them at all. While some adcs are more popular than others the unpopulars were still played and I don't see them anymore at all
