whenever a top brings ignite

i die on the inside. because they're the type of guy who thinks they can solo carry. ignite in top lane should only be taken if you know for a fact you're going to get extremely fed. you can't stop split pushers, you can't gank anyone without sacrificing a huge amount of farm, and all you get is a measley true damage dot for it.

The whole point of Taking TP is to be a teammate and help control objectives together. Trying to solo Carry the game without working with your team is a fools errand.

Any carry top laner Rumble Vladimir should bring ignite. They're useless if they don't get kills.

Vlad scales into the late game, he does not need to snowball, he mearlly needs to stall. And Rumble doesn't need anything because he only needs a few core items to be effective.

What if they go teleport / ignite? There are several champions who can function without flash top lane.

The enemy jungler's excitement will poke up out of their own pants, slip through the monitor, and slap you really hard.

Why the hell would a Vlad ever take ignite? He's got an utterly terrible laning phase which teleport helps him survive.

See the sentence directly following the statement. He's useless if he doesn't get kills.

Depends on the champ. Renekton is my favorite top laner, and you bet your ass I'mma use ignite.

Like a lot of things, it's a risk you take for potential benefit. The risk being that if you don't get a kill early game, your mid to late game will suffer since the other laner can split push and join in teamfights a lot easier than you can, not to mention making TP gank plays. The potential benefit is that you snowball out of control b/c of the early kills and you spill over into other lanes and carry the game from there.

Lol pretty sure TP is the 'solo carry' spell, it's basically saying "I don't trust u fegs to do anything right so I'ma come down and personally do it"

On the other hand, Ignite is important on a lot of top laners, especially champs like Trynd where if you can get FB, you can put on an absurd amount of map pressure - more than what you'd get from TP

I feel like you've got it backwards. Going for first blood is kind of what the solo carry top laners DO, so they can get fed and snowball out of control. TP top laners play a more passive lane so that they can be more useful to their team later. I don't think taking Teleport means you think your team needs a hero - it just means you can come when you're needed and you can have more flexibility in where you want to go.

IMO Ignite is the "I want to go 40/2/0" spell for top laners, while Teleport is the teamwork one.
