41% Winrate Azir 6.15 LOL

Champion.gg - Azir Middle Stats, Builds, Runes, Masteries and Counters

...and that's with a sub 5% playrate and greater than normal average # of games for the Azir players. This is from over 18k games in Plat+ so it's hard to argue that sample size and skill are the big issues. He's also disappeared entirely from competitive. Even Olaf didn't get gutted that hard.

I don't even play Azir at all. This is just comical and quintessential Riot balancing. This is why I actually fear that they buff a champion I like to play. If they buff him enough that he becomes problematic, the nerfs will gut him to a worse state than pre-buff.

Azir nerf was extreme.Look other champions nerfs.Karma, Viktor, Vlad, Fizz, Malzahar nerfs are small and fair.

That's because those champions haven't proven impossible to nerf out of a 100% pick rate in competitive with the possible exception of Azir, and when those champions are strong their win rate is typically at least 3% higher than Azir's to begin with. Of course they've not gutted Malz, he's only been a popular pick for like one patch. Azir has been strangling diversity for two seasons.

I used to love Azir, he released and i endured the bugs He was pretty much the only champion o played for 6 months. I even kept playing him during the period right before season 4 end whern rito broke his ult (moved through enemies, no damage, no knockback, no impassible terrain 100% just a visible nothingness)

But rito removed so much fun stuff from his kit when not adressing legitimate balnxe problems with him. Everytime they took something off his kit he felt less fun. I can't even play him anymore because i just miss those aspects. He is no longer the champ gameplay wise i fell in love with. (Still love his character/lore)

in azirs case, they basically nuked him until he gets a rework.

the problem was that they gave him nerf after nerf after nerf and it didnt seem to do anything to him. he was still op in pro play and high ranked games due to the sheer utility, mobility and dps combination he had.

so with that last nerf they really hammered him into the ground to make sure that he stops to be a problem this time until they know how to balance him properly.

It's really sad to see characters like Azir and Kalista be gutted this hard considering the insane amount of executional excellence required to be played properly in the first place. Yes these characters have a lot of strengths, but that's largely balanced by the fact that they require the player to play perfectly all the time in order to tap into that power. What's the point of these character if dedicated mains can't even make it worth the time investment? Why should a character that require 3 inputs to accomplish something be eclipsed by another champion who require a simple button press?

They already suffer from a massive skill ceiling and inconsistency. Why do their numbers need to be gimped so far on top of that?

Azir is just a champion that doesent fit in a moba style of game, hes like an unit took straightly from an rts, that is extremely overpowered if used right, but meanwhile his winrate is getting screwed by people who dont know how to play him.

Ok as Azir used to be one of my maina (trust me i have hundreds of games in total on azir). if you look @ that reddit thread that i believe a riot employee posted in sub azirmains or some shyt. he was talking about how azir needed a huge rework. He said they needed to either remove his Shurima shuffle ( W then E then Q to move farther then just QE) and give him his dmg back OR he said Keep the shuffle and turn him into a mid rage utility champ ( no more safe azir play, or poke and zone with good wq). he also talked about removing both and a bunch of different stuff!. Being a player that remembers old ORiana Q RANGE (omg op) and Heimer(OP) and YORICK(op) and was Stupid good on OLD CASS, this makes me so sad! Azirs whole identity is going to get changed. I didnt play azir because he was a "MONSTER" or OP! i played azir because he was fun and i liked the play style and when i got good with him i was rewarded for it! NOW there is no fun to play him because i get craped on!. Lets talk a D1 ap main getting beat in lane by a Gold brand or even ahri or viktor. Playing azir and expecting any kind of reward for good decision making and great playmaking is unsatisfying! playing azir just makes me a TOXIC player because one of my fav champs is just useless! (YES riot PLZ REFUND MY SKIN BTW) its dumb that because azir was a huge contested pick in PRO play like .2 % of players or something maybe less RIots like WE GATTA GUT THIs champ! It is obvious and expected that the same "Azir mai waifu" 125+ games accounts now have low winrate.

This is one of my major annoyances with how they nerfed Azir. They took the time to go in and remove nearly all of his utility (which I thought was actually the part of his kit that made him fun and unique to play) which really left Azir as just another high damage dealer. But then they decide to go ahead and nerf his damage anyways the patch after.

Azir needs his utility back. Ever since it's been taken away, he just feels bland and boring to play.

Except he's not strong right now, he's simply viable (unless it's pro play, then even there he seems to not be viable given he has no season 6 presence).

If he was disgusting while strong then you're right. But he wasn't. When he was strong, it was juggernaut itemization that was disgusting, not him.

I tried to tell people this would happen if they kept nerfing Azir , but still people would keep bitching about how OP he was. Now he's competing with Ryze for lowest win rate and only dedicated Azir mains get good use out of him. Congrats people who kept asking for for Azir nerfs, you got what you wanted. He is now trash and we can see more of those Zed and Yasuo that we love so much.
