Bronze, One-Trick, and What Viable Options Are Out There

RookPusher··1 votes·1,314 views

Preamble: I'm trapped in bronze. I can't get out. I've tried everything except one thing - which is why I'm here.

I don't really play the champs that are unstoppable when fed. I thought I did with Kayle and then she started getting wrecked. I thought I did with J4 and I can't figure out why but I've only ever hit a 78% WR with him and even than it's real bad early play. Like 6 deaths before I go on a rampage.

I tend to play top lane because I A. can't handle the mouth breathers I get paired with in bot lane - call that a jerk thing to say but I'm being honest, here, outside of the match. And B. it seems that every time I'm jungle my teams are either murdering everything in sight or feeding their faces off. I can't take it.

So I play top because I think it gives me the best chance of winning. I tend to play one of four champs (in order): J4, Shen, Kayle, Maokai. I was also learning Illaoi who seems pretty fun but she's banned often.

I'm stuck, I need help, and I don't know where to go. Any advice is appreciated.

EDIT: So a lot of folks are saying "In bronze anything works" or something to that effect and I think that's exactly the problem. It's not any champ. An individuals goodness - it seems to me - doesn't counteract an allies badness.

I need champs that counteract someones badness. I'm all for carrying myself out. I'm saying should I abandon my usual champ-base?

I've upvoted everyone who wrote in so far. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

You die... a lot. And you got some weird ass builds for different champions. I think you need to take a break from ranked and just work on your solo game. Read some guides on optimal builds and items. You play a lot of team-centric champions. I think your best place to focus right now is on your individual improvement.

You have so many weird picks for items and summoner spells.

Shen looks to be your best character. I'd recommend sticking with him.

Stop taking item 3512. Not because it's not good, but because I think you need to focus on individual micro play over zz'rot macro play.

Mmm, are you just looking at recent games. I feel like it's a rare concept for me to go more than 3 deaths in a regular-length game.

Regarding Portal, it's a go-to option if I'm Shen/J4 and they're Teemo. MR, Armor, Speed. It's not generally a macro-game issue.

You can't carry as a tank, just go for something like Jax Tryndamere Aatrox (not sure if he's just shit or boards are overrexagerating) Darius Illaoi

Don't flame your own team and become stronk with true supp champs like Taric, Nami, Janna. A strong supp in low ELOs is harder to find than a someone capable of carrying top/mid/jung.

Play Kled

Also, I feel like Diana Jg is weak rn. I used to play her a bunch and the schange of experience was harsh for her

Quiet Dude2 votes

I will say, a good Kled can wtfpwn an entire legion of bronze players back to the phantom zone

play brainless champs like Zed Talon Nocturne etc.

in bronze, literally anything.

the best you can do is pick an easy champion and learn the basics of the game. youre more focused on the strategic part and less on making mechanical mistakes.

the mechanics will come with practise.

dont do the mistake and try to 1 trick fiora, yaso or riven or a champion that really takes a lot of practise.

the first and foremost thing you have to do is learn to cs, when to push your lane and when to freeze. how and when to roam the map etc.

Not enchanters as they rely on your adc to play safe which they can not in low elo Not wardens for the same reason. Protecting and peeling won't save a bad play Not vanguards as they require your team to have the knowledge to follow up

Anything else is fair game. Any carry role or poke support, and no one that relies on their team to be capable of anything at all.

i dont play ranked anymore.. (trust me it only gets worse in silver, becuase then you have decent opponents with a 5k gold lead they got off a noob players rather than noob with a 5 k gold which u can easily outplay)

but if u REALLY want to climb and you feel your gameplay itself is good, try focusing on your team.

one of the big things in lower elo is people very RARELY ward. and even if they do, they dont look at the map.. be their eyes for them.

keep an eye on the map, watch out for your teammates.

another big issue in lower elo is people will fight any chance they get,, even when its a completely horrible idea, and the normally completely abandon farm and exp in side lanes after around 15 min.. if your laner isnt there getting the exp and gold.. take it.. unless your team absolutely NEEDS you to help them.

and you can say things like "hey top.. you have a massive minion wave up there" do u want to take the gold and exp? or can i have it?

and they will normally go back up top, because they don't like sharing.

its better than saying stuff like.. "u just let like 40 minions die to tower.. while you were groping mid accomplishing nothing get your ass back up thier and CS"

and one more thing i NEVER see done by anyone but me in about 95% of my games...

is inferring what is going on on the map without vision. for example the enemy. mid lane and bot lane are missing.

now we may have no vision on them.

but.. we know infernal just spawned.. so.. you can infer that they are PROBABLY doing dragon.

keep track of who is missing and where their location might be. where you you be if u were on their team.

if you are winning lane pretty hard and pushing up .. make sure u have vision on your surrounding.

a simple thing like spotting the enemy jungler top lane goes a long way to knowing if its safe to make a play

PING MIA.. do this at LEAST twice.. preferably 3 times, if they haven returned in 30 seconds.. ping it again. they should have been back.

i have tremendous game knowledge, and i can VERY good at watching enemy movements and predicting them, where and enemy would be, and landing skillshots.

however my mechanics are utterly trash, and i cant stutter step to save my life ( or a teammates life)

play to your strengths

learn support.. i mean truly LEARN it.

the HARDEST part about supporting is to know when to let a teammate die, and even when u know... it can easily be just as much of a challenge to stop your self from going in and going "well maybe i could have saved them". and giving up two kills instead of 1.

as a support player. you have to be VERY good at quickly and ACCURATELY judging a persons skill. and im not talking about only KDA here.

you can be the best thresh na and do a hook flash lantern over the wall..

but if your ADC is too stupid the grab the lantern... then u just gave the enemy a free kill.

whenever u die and have finished buying items.. watch your teammates... see how they play.. if they are making bad choices or good ones.

OP its not your picks, its your play. Literally stop dying so much.

Going 0/3 is better then 1/10 or 8/13

Your playing top Xd, and it’s bronze so lane matters the most, I’d recommend Jax Chogath Darius DrMundo Kennen Garen all of these champions tend to have strong lane phases.

I've been eyeing up the Lightning Squirrel - thanks for the nudge I needed.

There are no real "Best Options" for getting out of a certain ELO, unless you're in Low Diamond. As long as you can master a champion and climb with a few champions that you're undoubtedly good at you should be fine. Champions like Yi, Nocturne, Kai'Sa to name a few are very good SoloQ Low ELO picks, because people just don't know how to play against it.

Edit: Actually, Diamond 5 is the cap for abusing the Meta. Once you get into Diamond the only real way to climb past D5 is to sink thousands of hours into the game. Realistically the only people making it to high Diamond/Masters/Challenger are people that want to make or are making a living playing League.

I'll settle for gold, man. I'm not here to be a god. I just want those god damn skins which they fucked me out of 2 seasons ago.

I will show you how to leave bronze. add me if you like. be prepared to try things you hate, otherwise don't waste your time adding me.

You are bronze V now, I would guess you would be bronze 1 in a week or 2, depending on how much you play.
