some games it genuinely doesn't make an impact to get a sightstone. in low level people don't always pay attention to the map or adjust their playstyle with the vision you have (myself included). also some games your team might be way ahead or grouping anyway in a way that sightstone won't make a difference to the outcome

yes because you will have an extra ward to use if needed to secure an objective after you place the 3 others. also the extra hp is always good. and mostly what i like about the ruby sightstone is that it has a passive that reduces the cooldown of activated items so your item 3060 item 3190 item 3222 item 3143 item 3800 item 3092 item 3069 item 3157 item 3512 item 3401 by 10 %

I main Khazix and Mordekaiser support. I only build sightstone when I'm behind and I still sport a win rate that hovers between the low to upper 60s.

well you must play on a different account because it shows this account is lvl 26 with no match history. that being said there are stats that prove the higher elo players diamond 3 and up buy more wards then all other elos. majority of the player base is silver rank with the next highest % being bronze. and both of those buy /place the least amount of wards. if somehow you have a 60% win rate with out getting sighstone on a support is either a lie or an exception to the rule.

I'll get our precious Sightstone as soon as I have enough gold. No, I'm not going to get it on my first back with exactly 800 gold because I'd rather get a Ruby Crystal and Boots so I can actually perform well in lane.

Seriously. Do not get Sightstone on first back unless you have 1100 gold or more. You need Boots in lane or you're going to get picked off very easily. If I see the enemy Support with no Boots on first back, I'm going aggro on him. He's going to cry from being so slow.

Most supports get gold upgrade first...then SS...and then the final upgrade of gold income item..

At least that is what I do as a Support Main...

You should never get gold item upgrade first. Prioritize Boot upgrades and Sightstone. I know it sounds selfish, but being too selfless is usually going to get you killed for being too slow, especially when you roam at earlier levels. Getting counterganked is a death sentence without Boots.

It mostly depends on the situation. If you're really behind, go for gold income items. If you're even or ahead, go for Boots and Sightstone. If you're behind, you can't roam or poke as effectively, so might as well go for gold income.

It's just my playstyle really. I main Taliyah Support, so Boots would fit her purposes of being a movement speed-based disruption mage. Upgrading gold income items first doesn't really benefit me because I can't move as fast. It doesn't let me poke as efficiently regardless of how much damage I do.

It's situational, I think. I play a lot of Blitzcrank. I will never buy anything before sightstone, because the vision is always more valuable than item 3096 at that point for that playstyle.

Or they are very noob supports that dont understand the value of vision for the team.

It would be the same mentality of an ADC building ALL AD items because bigger number means more damage right? A smart ADC is stacking overlapping damage sources like atk speed, crit, armor pen, and AD in their build. Not just picking the 5 highest AD number items and some boots and calling it a build.

Some people just dont get it, and some of those people que up for support role because its fast, not because they intend to support.
