Riot, can you stop giving Olaf pointless buffs and admit his rework was a failure?

I'm looking through his patch history, and since his rework you've given him 8 buffs and 1 nerf.

Yes I said that correctly, EIGHT buffs.

4 buffs V3.13:

Undertow -Slow duration increased to 1.5-2.5 seconds from 1-2 seconds. -Mana cost changed to 60 from 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75. Vicious Strikes -Bonus attack speed increased to 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80% from 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80%. Reckless Swing -Cost lowered to 30% of the damage dealt from 40%.

The one nerf he got for some reason because he was competitively viable for like 2 days because of Sivir ult being broken

V4.1:

Undertow Slow reduced to 29 / 33 / 37 / 41 / 45% from 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55%.

3 More buffs?

V4.13:

Undertow -Cooldown reduced to 7 seconds from 8. Vicious Strikes -Healing amplification increased to +1% per 2% missing health from +1% per 2.5% missing health. Ragnarok -Cooldown reduced to 100/90/80 seconds from 120/100/80.

and another buff!

V5.9

Ragnarok -Now grants 50/60/70% bonus Movement Speed towards enemies for 1 second.

And he's still sitting at a 46% win rate from a 44%. Do you understand how many buffs this champion will need at this rate to be viable? A lot more than 8 lemme tell you. He has no base damage anymore or health scaling so he has to build damage to deal damage, but he has no reliable defensive steroid to count on, in addition to having lower armor than most ranged carries. He lost his armor penn so now his damage doesn't scale anymore, instead you gave him a stupid amount of attack speed and called it a day. Attack Speed on a melee champion without any mobility or hard CC is a terrible idea because they never get to use it. Even thought Jax is bad, at least Jax gets to use his attack speed because he has a gap closer and hard CC to buy him time. Olaf has none of this

Stop beating around the bush and just admit you screwed up, then we can actually progress with Olaf

And don't give me that "but Kalista is the meta and Olaf is bad vs Kalista! He's actually really strong" No he isn't. His win rate has been in the bottom 10 for almost the whole time since his rework, about a year and a half ago, and his win rate was 40% for the 6 months before his rework.

Maybe you should try actually playing him before calling him weak. Feel free to ask for pointers. There are very few games that I'm not #1 or #2 on my team for damage dealt and damaged tanked.

Insert strawman here

I have many times since his rework

There's a reason his win rate is 46%

He's trash

I have a 65% winrate with him in mid plat. Go on.

And math says you'd have a much higher win rate if you had played an actual champ instead of Olaf

No. Math says that the AVERAGE champion has a 50% winrate; not that NO champions get higher than a 50% winrate.

The fuck are you smoking?

Situational proof based on a single person's experience doesn't matter. It is called a case study.

There is a reason there are statistics that log the average winrate in many different playing grounds (such as lolking's difference between winrate in Norms, Ranked Bronze, Ranked Silver, Ranked Gold, Ranked Platinum, Ranked Diamond, and Ranked Master+). Either way, Platinum games are glorified Gold player games; they have a bunch of people playing like idiots and making too many mistakes. In higher ranked games, where a single mistake can spell death and you are punished for almost every little screw up, champs with bad kits tend to show through more.

In essence, though: Case studies are bunk. Use real statistics.

Olaf's ultimate centers around pushing through "mistakes" and turning around what should've been a fuck up. Again, try actually learning how to play him.

How to kite properly 101.

And guess what, every single champ gets punished for making mistakes. Olaf's ult does not change that (it actually makes him more squishy when he activates it).

But nonetheless, my previous point stands with "statistics will be the proof, not case studies"; which now I also have to add "hearsay" so that you don't say something stupid like "WELL I KNOW THIS GUY THAT IS GODLIKE WITH OLAF".

My success with Olaf gives me more credibility on the subject of his balance than your zero ZERO experience with him in ranked. You're talking out of your ass about winrates, but I'd imagine you'd be shocked to find out that several "op" champions have sub 50% winrates.

Appeal to Authority This sort of error is also known as “Argumentum Verecundia” (argument from modesty). Instead of concentrating on the benefits of an argument, the arguer will attempt to append their argument to an individual of power or authority in an effort to give trustworthiness to their argument.

In essence, you are using personal experience as the reasoning for why my argument is invalid without actually disproving it.

I state statistics.

And the "OP" champs that are under 50% winrates are usually not as "OP" as people claim, or else they would have higher winrates. This tends to be because they are either hard to master or that they can not solo carry games. Maybe in the competitive scene they may be "OP", but in general they are not so powerful that they are the cause for teams to win. The fact they have a low winrate is proof enough of that.

But you obviously want to argue facts and figures with emotion and opinion; such as with the fallacies the other individuals and you seem to keep throwing out as your argument, so I am just gonna end it here. Nothing to gain for me, honestly.

reason 1 for low win ratio popularity, they pick this champ players that have not mastered him reason 2 for low win ratio 'safe picks-first picks', there are safe picks, but u can always counter-pick them with something with better team fight (equal laning, better teamfight) reason 3 for low win ratio UP, these champions have bad balance between strengths and weaknesses reason 4 for low win ratio, Specialist champions that their specialties are useless on this meta

Except I was diamond 1 60 LP in season 3 and close to that in Season 4

So I'm pretty sure I have more credibility than you when it comes to ranked, despite you playing Olaf more

Are you going to keep throwing argument fallacies at me?

You're very arrogant for someone who uses a logical fallacy or two in each post.

but 8 more will either bring him to 48% winrate Or break him again. Either way, it'd be fun to watch. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Olaf is sub par ATM, relax.

Olaf had a bad overall winrate even when he was completely ridiculous in pro play (remember Voyboy?). So, I wouldn't necessarily give too much for his winrate and wait if his recent buffs effects his performance at the highest and most coordinated of levels.
