Can we stop these Duo lane Morde Shenanigans?

Mordekaiser's hella toxic in duo lanes due to his unfair W mechanic and not having ANY weaknesses with a support. This makes the game really frustrating for the enemy bot lane, and often even their jungler. Top/Mid Morde's just a wreck. He sucks, no sugarcoating it. He gets countered by anything and he's basically a free 300 gold walking around on the rift since his weaknesses are even more glaring.

Heck, if you were to give darius Morde's W passive on his Q you'll end up having something even more toxic than Morde. It's the simple fact that bruiser bot lanes won't work if they're balanced. They need broken stats, unfair advantages or have to be simply OP for them to go toe to toe with enemy ranged Marksmen.

Hell, the idea behind duo lane Mordekaiser was that Riot deemed him too unhealthy to balance in solo lanes and FORCED him bot lane where he pisses off two people at once. The other Juggernauts can be balanced stat wise and will be pretty healthy since they're balanced as champions and not depending on a role/gimp.

It's safe to say that Morde NEEDS more than just stat changes since he'll be caught in limbo between being blatantly OP or utter trash. Balancing him according to a solo lane would eliminate his unfun factor in duo lanes since he'll actually have weaknesses and his Q doesn't deal as much damage on tanky targets anyways.

Tl;DR: Morde's too toxic in duo lanes. He should be tuned to a solo or he'll be either UP or OP

Only two things will push Morde out of his current place.

  1. No one learns and Riot is forced to nerf/rework Morde again.
  2. The meta changes and Marksmen take a solo lane so a duo that can actually handle Morde goes against him.

Personally I'd prefer the latter.

Sadly it will probably be the former according to the current PBE patches :P Besides, he won't be a problem in pro play since his weaknesses can be easily exploited if you've got an organized team. SoloQ? Not so much.

It already can. We've started seeing more classic marksman mids such as AD Varus mid. That was the meta back before Season One. Against a Morde team, it'd be easy to go back and have your marksman in mid and take a different duo comp bot instead. Blinds are going to tilt the stats since you can't prepare for a Morde if you can't see him but honestly that'd be a pretty simple solution.

With my Ranked Team, we use Mordekaiser to force a lane swap. As our Team's AD Carry, I go Top with normal ADC Runes, Masteries, Summoner Spells, etc and Mordekaiser goes bot with TP and everything with our Support.

It's an adaptation of what the pros do to help Top Laners that get lane-swapped on, but we're the ones that force it because then both the Top and ADC get Solo Experience.

quinn is probably a good idea for this because she can easily burst the tanky targets in top lane and has several safety margins while still being able to build as a carry

a lot of marksmen though have the issue of being too easily killed in top lane

kalista works too but if she's burst, she will probably die

Yeah, Quinn works well for this as well as Vayne. As long as the ADC has a reliable escape that doesn't have a super high CD, they work.

Not likely going to happen. The whole reason why the ADC works in the Bot lane is that ADC's arn't level dependent. Since they are auto attackers. So they can have an XP leach with them in the bot lane as long as they don't steal the ADC's farm.

The only reason Mord works is because he Cheats. Completely Circumventing the XP leach in the bot lane. Which not only Gives him an XP advantage in the Duo lane, but gives his team an over all XP advantage.

Right now, it feels like the Juggernaut rework was just a quick fix while he really needs a bigger overhaul. Something which Riot couldn't give him when the likes of Poppy and Taric are the first in line. But that in mind, They probably decided that Bot lane was a healthy compromise cause Mord would have to be Support reliant, to become Oppressive.

They honestly just need to can this rework and do it again, without CertainlyT on it. Whoever is leading the champion team these days let him have free reign on this experiment, and these are the consequences.

In all honesty though, we are going to be out a champion for a long time with this. They decided to do this experiment on a rework, instead of a new champion, so Morde Players are SoL if Riot sticks with this TERRIBLE design decision.

TBH The fact that these guys need something as broken as this to hold up to ADCs (They had to give Mord a free level advantage and a dragon ghost) should be a giant red flag as to how fucked up ADCs are as a class.

Mordekaiser is such a weird champion right now, actually the opposite of most marksmen; he is a MASSIVE lane bully in duo lanes, but completely worthless solo. He's not even that much of a late-game beast, judging by how his winrate drops off as the game goes on. It's pretty fucking stupid that someone who tapers off that hard doesn't even get a strong early game if he chooses to run solo; it's lose lane, lose game unless your team is carrying you or you somehow get fed off your lane

Mord's entire rework is terrible. I have no idea what they were thinking at any point, but they didn't actually fix anything at all about Mord, they just made his problems worse and made him a bot laner for some reason.

I actually think Mord's rework is the worst piece of champ design I've ever seen, maybe the only two who are as bad are Kalista and Thresh.

Everyone blames Riot for enforcing a meta and making the game stale.

Riot tries to break the meta by making bruiser bot lane work and everyone complains.

Face it Mordekaiser is short ranged and immobile in a lane where ADC's rule. The only way he can compete with their "unfair" advantage of having range over him is by having an unfair advantage of his own. That's the only way he can be remotely viable in bot lane.

you could kite a melee champion, i do it all the time as Lucian due to his W passive working well with supports Peel and Dash, also Vayne can counter Morde very well with her silver bullets and high mobility.

Which applies to One on One scenarios, yes. Now pair Morde with a tanky initiator like Leona, Blitz or Nauti and you'll be dead faster than you can say Mace of Spades.

This is the issue with Mordekaiser bot; His weakness to mobility and getting kited won't be exploitable once he gets someone to provide the cc he needs. While he stomps duo lanes due to his support he get's completely destroyed solo due to his glaring weaknesses.

Morde's main problem is that he synergies well with all in supports. However when i am vs a mord the trick i use is Make their supports attempts useless CREATING a 1v1 scenario. know what i mean? meanwhile my adc punished mordekaiser hard if he tries to come for me. it is all about teamwork in creating 1v1 fights between roles. it is a beautiful thing <3 like two lovers protecting on another with their own traits, the female with her charm and cunning, and the male with his strength and handywor...... shit.. i just turned this reply into a poetic porno.

The Morde remake has been an objective failure. It took a niche champion and turned it into an unbalanced champion that is toxic in a duo lane, and a failure in a solo lane.

Riot needs to go back to the original concept, Sauron from LotR and The Overlord from Overlord, and rebuild him from the ground up.
