Does anyone else think Nunu really needs a rework?

I've just been thinking about who should get one and Nunu came up. I think he has Sion syndrome where, at first glance, his kit doesn't really seem to blend together. I know that his kit has synergy; his W steroid lets his passive come up faster, thus more free Ice Balls or Consumes.

I also know that Riot did buff him to get those temporary buffs based on what monsters he's recently Consumed, but I'm not sure how effective those buffs actually are.

Considering that Trailblazer essentially works like Consume does, healing the jungler on cast, it seems a bit outdated. Of course, buffing it is out of the question, because we all remember that one patch (I think 3.7?) where Nunu's level 1 Consume outdamaged level 1 Smite and every enemy jungle ripped their hair out from the buff steals.

I'd also want to mention his ult; it definitely LOOKS good on paper, but then you realize that A) No damage happens until he re-activates it, someone interrupts the cast, or he actually finishes it (which maybe happens half of the time? Less than?). You can also see what he's building, and if he's going tanky over AP, then the ult won't even hit that hard. Add in the long list of moves that can stop the ult, and it just seems very sub-par.

Eh, I guess most will disagree with me, but Nunu seems to be either broken OP sometimes or never seen at all.

I wouldn't mind it, laning against him is super annoying. I'd rather not face someone who cheeses with point and click slowballs

Well... I like his kit. It isn't problematic, it is simple and he has one of the few remaining Attack Speed Slows in the game. Nunu promotes a kind of gameplay that lets him be good to have around when you are losing. He is the opposite of those feast or famine champions and that's what's so good about him. He is still from that time when Riot wanted build diversity to happen (Full AP Nunu, oh the memories) and has a pretty straightforward kit.

I doubt Riot is going to rework him without turning him into an overloaded, difficult to pick up monster, not friendly at all for new players, which shouldn't happen. His simple kit is his beauty.

His kit has actually plenty to be given, in all honesty. Its a kit made for a jungler who can stay outside of his base for a very long time, winning his team's skirmishes by messing with both carries' DPS through buffing and debuffing constantly, as well as forcing some CC to be wasted on him. Despite having very few damaging options in a battle, he makes up for it with great objective securing, especially when he brings smite, and amazing counterjungling potential, since he excels at killing off just one monster in each camp.

Looks like a solid kit to me. All he needs is a little buff to himself while channeling his ultimate (making him tankier during the channel can help) and I think he has enough potential for a beginner's champion, so the new players can learn concepts such as steals, objective securing, buffs and counterjungling.

I play Nunu. He's pretty great. You don't gank early, just go for a 4 minute dragon and then start farming like crazy. Once you hit 5/6, head top and pick up some harass, maybe a kill, then it's back to dragon at 10 minutes.

I generally tell my team to go for baron at exactly 20 minutes. The true damage combined with Spirit Visage makes it possible for me and 2 AD champs to take it down pretty quickly. And then...well, we have Hand of the Baron at 20 minutes and we win the game.

So nobody thinks this?

As someone who has just hit level 5 mastery on Nunu I have to fully agree. I love Nunu in a LOT of ways...I love his theme, his design (giant ice gorilla op) but his kit is just so...bad. I do feel that riot needs to give Nunu a major 'Sion level' update when it comes to both skills and visual update.

I think a small buff some where to make him credible vs other supports would be nice. I read some one talking about changing his snow ball two a 1 sec cool down with small slow that stacks into a stun. Something like that would bring him up to speed in modern LoL

what if they made his Q a near 0 cooldown skillshot that only has a 2-5% slow/AS slow but then stacks up until it stuns, and you have to barrage them with snowballs, and change how his blood boil works, its really boring right now, its super effective but its just lame and takes up a ability slot
