is Dragon a lot stronger in s5??

Played a bots game last night to try out the new map. I'm not sure if it was because I just attempted the dragon earlier than normal due to it being bots and so no counter pressure, but at level 5 or 6 as hecarim I ganked bot Lane for a double kill and called alistar and twitch to come do Dragon. Figured 3 people no problem (they were both level 5). So we go in, alistar is a good tank and hecarim has heal on his w from all damage so I thought we'd sustain easily, but we got wrecked really fast and didn't even do 35% of the dragons health in damage.

Was Dragon made a lot stronger? All game or just early? Any experience on when to try Dragon now? Or was it just that it was too early (I only had spirit stone and 2 long swords and I doubt bot Lane had backed yet) and in normal gameplay (I.e. human opponents that make it harder to Dragon that early) it won't be an issue?

Thanks!

Yes it is stronger, it has more starting heath and as AOE affect in the beginning of the fight (it hits like a truck pre 9) but ultimately nothing much has changed other than the health and the attack type.

Okay thanks! I guess I'll look to finish my jungle item before starting it then, and make sure the team is spread to avoid aoe.

Any insight as to how many champions at what levels it will take? E.g. 4 level 5+, 3 level 7+, 2 level 9+, solo at 10 (of course it would be champion and item dependent but just like a general idea so I don't try to duo it at 6 and get wrecked).

Im a jungle main, and i can solo drag at 9 with nocturne. Once i have feral flare and starting my shiv build (Mostly Zeal for my attack speed) But when it comes to levels and teams. I mean the more the merrier. You and bot lane will be enough once you have your jungle item done. But on the new map dragon fights will probably start around 15 mins because it is so strong now. But really once you can clear blue buff without smite and barely take damage that is a pretty good gauge as what you can do on dragon lol. but still i would play it just like S4, you and the supp tank it while the adc does most of the damage (cause thats all the adc is good for) then you put on your lcs pro level smite and you have yourself some global buffs once season 5 actually comes out.

If you have good sustain, you can probably get it with 2 ~7-9. I know as someone like Udyr though you can easily kill it solo past lvl 12.
