The Shen Rework: For Better or Worst?

I started playing this game around S1- S2 (though this acc was made in s3) from the very first time I gazed upon this champion I've had an infatuation with his theme. Eventhough his gameplay left little to be desired. All I have to say is . . . GOOD FLIPPING JOB RITO!! I love the visuals, the sounds, the ability names, the short lore entry, everything.

I'll be blunt with my questions:

Q deals a bit more damage than old Q (provided the magical sword hits the champ en route to Shen) though I think old Q had a higher dps in terms of Magic Dmg. After the lost of his old dmg passive is his dps really the same, is it even stronger? Yea he gets 50% attack speed if the sword makes contact with enemy in flight but not lets forget the fact that Feint reduced ki strike's cooldown leaving for increased dps.

Why change shadow dash to physical dmg? Was it a thematic decision? and why no AD Scaling? is this to avoid him becoming a Jugg?

Can Spirit Refuge activate with only shen in it's presence?

What was the reasoning behind giving him 400 energy? Tbh I really like this idea, it makes him seem like a beefy fighter with huge reserves of energy even if it's no real advantage over other energy champs because he's an energy hog.

Why Still no Passive on ult or W? Shadow is pretty much the same, his old Q and passive (Vorpal Blade and Ki Strike respectively) seemed to have had a baby who's name is Twilight Assault and his W got fed up, changed his name and moved west and took residence in his old passive's home and this new ability who claims their spirit refuge stole Shadow's passive but made it in an AOE ability for allies (TBH this was an idea I had for him in one of my rework discussions) But he still seems a bit weak to high burst especially since he got a reduction to his base and per lvl Health and Armor.

He seems like he is missing something that is an intricate part to him being a staple champion. My guess is innate dmg reduction to enemy spells because he has not resistance buff and his new W only applies to auto for a few seconds though this might not be a real problem... he can't be perfect.. can he?

All in all the rework looks great (his legendary skins actually look like legendary level and now has one of my favourite bloodmoon skins). I also love the fact that I have to pay attention to when and how I cast My Q and W now. It seems that he will be one of those champs who call for a greater sense of patience and timing. Though he definitely seems more like a tank and looks like a great ninja!! xD

his sword thing is kinda retarded if you ask me, they could have come up with something better. a rework this huge wasn't needed
