Nexus Blitz Sudden death ABSOLUETLY needs to change

We had just aced the enemy team and were pushing for the end. Attacking their final tower before the nexus, when Sudden Death begins.

We had MORE than enough time to end the game during the ace, but due to sudden death the new nexus is SO MUCH TANKIER that we could hardly get it to 50% before they spawned. All of them full health and freshly bought, with the base right beside them and our nexus wandered the full distance across the map - we lose the game.

From an earned win to a certain loss because our nexus literally walked the entire distance of the map.

The nexus should stop in the middle and wait to duel. Further, the nexus shouldn't be nearly as tanky. Like no where close. I don't even get why it has to be tankier than the normal nexus - this is sudden death, it's supposed to end the game. Not be a an epic long-lasting finally. Most games don't get there, and when they do it's supposed to end fast. Finally, the nexus' should have partial damage taken for towers destroyed. You've lost your entire base? Your nexus starts at half health. We've only lost our outer towers? Ours starts at 90%.

I'm getting really sick of sudden death. Everything else about the game is great. I'm 25/17 overall now, and I'm 1/6 in sudden death - with 4 of those beings games we were very close to winning but the above happened, or the enemy team just had more AD damage to win the sudden death race.

they should chance the name from sudden death to rito balance team mode, that way no one is confused

The reason Sudden Death happens is becase one team isn't good enough to push the win against the other team. That usually means it's a close game which generally means both teams have a chance of winning which means Sudden Death is fair.

There's a difference between a reasonably close game and an even game. That's the whole point I'm trying to make.

If my team has just succeeded in taking a lead that (without sudden death) would be insurmountable, that's a reasonably close good game. To have sudden death then occur and make that insurmountable lead an almost certain loss? Incredibly unfair.

Of course, as players learn strategies will develop. In that case we should have just all backed and bought and met at the middle for an even fight. However it still wouldn't make it to the middle because our super minions and the enemy's cursed minions from us winning the last event would result in ours walking over quickly while theirs takes a while to get there. Further, if they have catapult from an earlier event it gives them a huge advantage (whereas the cursed minions or blitz hooks we earn at the late event are useless).

It's a frustration is the point. You shouldn't see sudden death and KNOW you just lost the game. At WORST it should feel like a 50-50 for the team that was currently winning. Right now though, it tends to feel like a 10-90 if your team is currently winning but runs out of time.

The simplest points though? As an AP champion if my autos are doing 500 damage to turrets, they should do the same to the sudden death nexus. The sudden death nexus shouldn't take considerably longer to kill than the normal one - make it have twice the health, but also start at half health if the base is destroyed.

It's completely UNACCEPTABLE to have a game that we could have ended in a 15 seconds, end up taking another 75 seconds for sudden death. The whole premise of sudden death is to make the game end faster - NOT to prolong it.

No, that's not. Those two ideas are literally opposite. You cannot have both an insurmountable lead and it be a close game.

If your lead was so great then it wouldn't have taken you 18 minutes to win. If the enemy team was able to win the Sudden Death, that means your lead wasn't that great at all.

You're 100% wrong here.

Have you ever had a close game in league, ever?

How did that game end? Because I guarantee you one of the two teams won. Which means at some point (e.g. as the last auto attack was on its way to the nexus), the game was INSURMOUNTABLE.

However the game was still close.

So unless you want to argue that no game is EVER close (which is just silly) - then the two ideas are not "literally opposites". They're very much possible.

Pick up a dictionary, fam. You're using big words incorrectly.

Am honestly not. Good argument you're making here...

Insurmountable: in the context meaning, at the given point of the game the winner was decided. Close: the game wasn't a stomp - it was relatively even.

You can have an hour long game which is clearly close (because it lasted an hour). However at the 58min mark it could have been insurmountable for the losing team.

Insurmountable: IMMENSE, MASSIVE, IMPOSSIBLE TO OVERCOME, GARGANTUAN

An "insurmountable" lead is NOT a close game. It literally means that it was a stomp. If it was a close game, it in no way was "insurmountable" meaning Sudden Death was pretty valid, meaning you lost fair and square.

Are you daft?

As you quoted yourself: Impossible to overcome.

At a certain point, any game, no matter how close, has a lead that's impossible to overcome. When the enemy team is aced at 1h17min into the game and you can end before they respawn, AT THAT POINT IN TIME THE GAME IS INSURMOUNTABLE. Yet that game was still close.

This isn't even an argument. It's a fact. So there's literally no point for me to respond to you anymore.

I agree.. it looks like it was just designed to be goofy, but it adds frustrstion. The team that was losing typically has the advantage since they die, buy, then fight while the winning team doesn't have time to be fully equipped for the fight by buying their final items due to trying to end.

It shouldn't get any tankier, so if you would have been able to win odf an ace prior to sudden death you still win. Or, if. You are dead when sudden death starts you don't respawn. Or, the nexus becomes a shop so people can buy while defending their nexus. Or, everyone alive when sudden death starts gets replenished to full health...

imo I love how if your team is feeding your asses off then you somehow ace them during sudden death you pretty much instantly win

But you're right, it def needs to be touched on.
