Morgana Did someone say extended CC duration?

If that is a % increase I am gonna be scared though.

Votable Jester22 votes

I think a flat increase would be more obnoxious than a %.

rework trundle25 votes

Imagine Trundle's Q slowing for 0.6 second instead of 0.1.

Glory ln Death8 votes

It's only immobilizing CC (stuns, snares, roots), not all CC like slows and silences.

Well 2 times infinity is still infinity, nothing to be worried about

Eedat12 votes

Thats where you're wrong my friend. There are many different kinds of infinities and some are much larger than others eh heh

Tannhäuser Gate11 votes

However, 2*infinity is the same cardinality as just plain old infinity, so while what you are saying is true, it is not applicable.

Eedat13 votes

2*infinity is the same cardinality as just plain old infinity

I mean if we're talking technically you can't multiple infinity by anything because infinity is a concept, not a number or value at all.

Ariel the Cruel7 votes

But if we're applying that rule to Concepts, then numbers can't be multiplied either. Numbers are just symbolically representative concepts. ;p

Eedat5 votes

No they arent :p. For example, I can actually prove that 2 times infinity does not equal infinity.

Saying 2 times infinity equals infinity is the same thing as saying 2X = X.The only time that 2X = X is when X = 0. Therefore by transitive relation infinity must equal 0, which it doesnt. Thus proving that 2 times infinity does not equal infinity

Ariel the Cruel9 votes

The problem here is the use of circular logic. "Numbers" are a representative concept. Math is likewise a system of manipulating that concept within the scope of what it represents.

You claim that numbers exist, because they can or can't equal other numbers. But neither numbers nor math actually exist. Letters don't either, by this logic. They're all "concepts." ;p

Boop Daddy 3 votes

infinity is a set of all numbers within certain boundaries. for instance, there are an infinite number of numbers between 1 and 2. there is also an infinite amount of numbers between 1 and 100.

The key difference is that the infinity encompassing 1 and 100 is much much larger than the infinity between 1 and 2.

both numbers and infinity exist, its just that multiplying infinity by a number makes as much sense as dividing my zero :p. if that morg q hits ur gonna die regardless.

Ariel the Cruel2 votes

both numbers and infinity exist

Then show me a "1." Not the symbolic representation of a 1, but an actual 1.

Then you can prove mathematics, by explaining how real results can be achieved by changing the rules. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/great-debate-over-whether-1234-112-180949559/ (This is a real thing.)

Then you can finish by explaining how something that represents an absence of something is it's self something. Specifically, "0." (0 is a real thing in mathematics.)

Numbers are concepts. They don't exist in our physical reality. Likewise, the concepts we use to manipulate their representations, can also be changed. In that way, we can mathematically calculate infinities. Or we can use our concepts as proof that nothing = something within that conceptual field.

But yes. Morg Q's are scary.

30% increase.

Brittle is however consumed when an immobilizing CC is applied, so it's not going to result in massively amped CC chains and can be partially wasted if consumed by a low duration immobilizing effect.

Ez dePaz16 votes

Does it work with suppression?

Nilok2 votes

Ya, does it cause the effect to continue past the channel time, or does it cause the channel time to be longer?

Ariel the Cruel9 votes

30% increase.

Woo, hole on one!

So now for the important question: How does the 30% increase affect displacements? Will it only extend the stun duration, will victims travel further, will they just eat it with no effect?

EDIT: Others are mentioning Suppression. Which is also a valid point for clarification.

Divewing1 votes

Meddler specifically mentioned immobilising CC, so I imagine it'd either consume it for no effect, or just work as usual.

How this works with things like Pulverise will be interesting though..

Ariel the Cruel2 votes

Displacements are considered immobilization though. That's why I ask.

Ignoring the brittle bonus seems the most consistent [with tenacity] and least likely to break something. But that would mean he's incapable of exploiting his own debuff. So it also seems the most illogical.

Displacements could just ignore the extension and eat it for the bonus damage. But that creates dissonance in effect understanding and brings back the question, "why would he have it?"

If Displacement is extended by brittle, then there are a handful of different ways it could interact the relevant abilities. Never mind the shit-storm the forums will whip up over tenacity (which is already starting).

This would seem like an important point of clarification to me.

Getting "Poppy'd" 30% farther would be fun to see.

Getting Morgana Q'd 30% longer would not.

We don't know how Poppy will react yet.

Morgana Q will be a thing though.

Means you get to cap out higher with one special upgrade. Think the return of boot enchants.

Oh theres already a reveal page, I only saw the video. Now the question is.. which items can he upgrade?

I admit I'm rather miffed that they revealed everything but the items and the upgrades.

Yeah, they could be anything from a guaranteed late game win to an extra longsword/tome/cloth/mantle/crystal in terms of stats (which would still be helpful, but not as game-changing).

This was what caught my eyes the most.

Everyone freaking out over a mediocre kit that doesn't really stand out... just another melee top that will get destroyed by Darius , Illaoi or Fiora... but that "His teammates can upgrade select items" thing changes everything.

He's going to be played support almost certainly. Lots of CC, probably good base damage, but will work great with tank and CDR items.

Possibly, it really depends on what they mean by what they meant by those upgrades.

Kind of a stupid way to do it, seeing as how all of his CC consists of knockups and knockbacks. No, they're just giving CC-duration increases to the one type of CC tenacity doesn't affect.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

It's likely not going to affect his own CC, probably why they chose to give him knock ups.

Think of it like damage, if True damage can't be reduced or increased, than Displacement that can't be reduced are likely the same.

Turrets take reduced true damage when minions aren't around.

Scratch that, it was changed to completely ignore true damage.

"Tenacity sucks since we nerfed it and only put it on one item that's limited to stopping magic damage, how can we fix this so more people got it?

WAIT! WHAT IF WE MAKE A NEW CHAMP THAT MAKES CC LAST LONGER! Sure the only tenacity item in the game still sucks, but now more people will buy it!"

Well if you're going to die because of extended cc I think the idea is that you can reduce it to compensate for the fact Ornn brittled you.

That or, ya know, QSS and Zhonya

General Esdeath 2 votes

2 seconds of CC extended by 2 seconds the reduced by 1 is still an increase in the timer.

TwitchInMyPants1 votes

I'm not disagreeing with you, that's why I mentioned items that are also reliable options and I've stated in other threads 45% tenacity could use a comeback, but reducing the increase is still a net benefit and creates new justification for the item. Is that enough? Probably not. But when we're talking about long ccs like Morgana Q as a popular example a % increase being negated is signficant.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Exactly. I don't know why they haven't added new tenacity items

BRITTLE When Brittle, enemies suffer a portion of their maximum health as bonus damage when struck by immobilizing effects. Immobilizing effects also last longer when used on Brittle enemies.
