Janna/Lulu Shields + AP Bot Laner Idea

I remember seeing a post/thread/comment about Janna's shield giving adaptive bonuses rather than AD at some point recently and that got me thinking about Lulu's shield.

So Janna's shield supposedly provides bonus damage to traditional ADC autoattacks, and with the rise of AP mage bot lane carries changing Janna's E shield to provide an adaptive bonus rather than an AD bonus makes sense, but what about:

Since Lulu's shield supposedly provides bonus autoattack DPS through her faerie attacking, what if for AP mage bot laners it attacks on damaging abilities? I'm not sure about the amount of damage but let's say you shield an ally Syndra and when Syndra lands a sphere on an enemy champion, Pix also then fires out said attacks. Only issue I'd see would be how it'd be coded with multitarget abilities or AoE. I dunno, just an idea in my head since shielding an AP mage as Lulu feels kinda wasteful (unless it is actually for damage mitigation).
