It feels like Cassiopia requires too many items just to function reliably...

Honestly, I love Cassiopea kit, but it is amazingly unreliable unless you buyitem 3116. I honestly don't like item 3116 because the stats suck and I don't really like permaslow/non damage passives. So I've been trying to play her without it and here is what I found.

Every spell Cassiopeia has is very conditional or unreliable.

Q: has like a 1 second delay. This spell is utterly unreliable against a moving target that is not running in a straight line. It gets worst late game when everyone has 400 plus movement speed.

W: goodluck grounding anything that is moving. It has a huge delay and will often land on the edge of a moving target. It doesn't help chain to her Q much either as the cast animation will often prevent you from casting your q quickly enough to land it. The animation is so slow that if you press W E combo quickly, the E will hit the target before the W hits the ground, causing that E to hit as a none poisoned E.

E: Very fast cast/projectile speed. Only thing in her kit I'm satisfied with.

R: I get that her R is a massive AOE stunned and that a cast delay is needed for counterplay, but I can't tell you the number of times Zed/Yasuo jumps around while I cast this spell only for it to not stun. Even if it is against an immobile champ, any random movement (intentional or not) will greatly decrease the chance of a stun.

From this point, her entire kit falls apart because nothing else works because it is so hard to land her Q and W. Also, using her W as a zoning tool to help land her ult is such a gamble because it puts her in combat range, and if you don't get that stun, you are screwed.

The champ kit is so unreliable that you have no option but to buy item 3116 first. But don't forget her E is a mana guzzler. So you also need item 3040 item 3165 mana and CDR to speed up the cast speed. And don't forget she can't buy boots so she will also need item 3135 asap causing her to spend more just to get decent mpen.

It just feels like she requires too much item wise just to function like a normal champ. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Cassio's passive is bullshit that's why. She's got kind of fuckass ranges, which are slow and don't deal well with high mobility, control or burst. Her damage is sustained, which means in a case where burst can turn the tables (read: hard CC), she's basically fucked, and any second she's down is going to count against her twice as bad as a regular burst.

Meanwhile, Cassiopeia's passive is literally just a hard gate on her move speed. This, in a meta where high-mobility burst is coming in at a high, and everyone's pairing boots with a mobility item (especially crit-based options). Cassiopeia will basically 'catch up' in movespeed to boots-users, with some nominal few-point differences. She could easily work a Lich Bane/Luden's for good MS, but this now puts her up to three builds just to compensate for the fact that she's not buying boots (Rylai's included). Even without movespeed, she needs a mana build.

If her passive was some sort of mana mechanic this would probably be far less pronounced.
