Ancient Coin AFK Supports

I don't literally mean AFK supports, but supports that take ancient coin need to do VERY LITTLE to get their coin gold compared to other supports who really have to engage in the lane and trade.

Thresh, Pyke and Rakan can just sit around in lane doing nothing and get their supp item completed at 9min by collecting the gold coins.

To make it a more interactive lane item I suggest the following:

If a coin is not picked up, another coin will not spawn for 45 sec.

The only time you miss coins is when you're getting pushed in, and for a coin support lane, you should be pushed in all the time if you don't offer any pressure.

Half of every conflict I've seen in my games, is literally a support that trolls because they got that role. Sad to see the game in this state honestly.

And as usual, any discussion of any item that relates to supports transforms into a "let's beat up on supports" thread.

I like the concept of doubling up on Relic shields I like the concept of mages getting gold from fighting I agree that Coin is pretty lackluster, thanks to item 3285 and it's 20% cooldown.

Not just that, the nerf to support items (e.g., the cost, mana nerf) have made coin less palatable - especially when damage and snowballing dictates victory so early in the game.

If you take ancient coin, then you often are sacrificing a lot in the early game as a support. Plus if you have an adc that can't wave clear for toffee, then coin is a helpful "go to".
