Devourer Kindred

DREADN0UGHT··1 votes·570 views

i heard a bunch of people say Dev Kindred was a new FoTm atm, and C9 used it vs TSM.

I'm not sure when that trend got popularity and I can't put my finger on whatever it that Kindred would benefit from a slow power build-up like dev..

Can anyone enlighten me?

It was the reccomended item when they came out. It depends on whether you want a strong early game or strong late game (warrior vs devourer)

Well from what I've learned so far, Kindred is a very effective champ when it comes to early trading, invading and ganking. His base dmg and kit just allows for it. I use to go for devourer back when it was absolutely broken. But warriors is pretty efficient at giving a hard edge on 90% of other junglers.

At some point I was even harrassed in game for building Devourer, so I looked some guides up (Svenskerens in particular) and they all swear by Warriors.

But it just seems that recently Dev Kindred got really popular again. I'm kinda thinking I missed out on a buff or something to the items, Kindred is getting nerfed next patch but her winrate since 6.6 raised by about 3%.

I guess I'll just have to try it.

(Gotta love the downvotes for asking questions on boards, that'll teach me to be curious!)

The nerf actually was reverted.

And no, kindred really isn't that strong compared to other early game junglers, like Lee Sin or Nidalee. They have potent ganks, sure, but against someone who is actually made to kick your face in early in your own jungle, they don't stand a chance

I don't know if we are talking about the same nerf here. Cuz I read every single patch note AND Pbe patch note they publish..

their Q dmg and mana costs were nerfed and increased respectively a patch or 2 ago, and I don't recall that being reverted. And second, on PBE patch from last week, she got a significant nerf to her ult: She will now only be able to cast it upon herself rather than on allies..

Their current changes in the PBE were reverted:

Dance of Arrows (Q) [previous changes to lower base damage and increase ratio reverted.]

Here is the post.

You said nerfs next patch. As of now, those aren't happening. I know they've gotten nerfed in the past, but so far, they aren't scheduled for any more.

All centered around their passive.

Faster attack speed means passive proc's more often, also, every 4th shot it proc's twice. With only 6 stacks, which you should have by the time you're sated, that is 7.5% of their total HP every shot, and 15% of their max HP on the 4th shot. With max attack speed you can do 2.5 attacks/second (I think) for a whopping ~70% of their health in 3 seconds. That's not even counting the normal damage you do from your abilities and basic attacks.

You know, I never really looked at it this way. Thanks for the insight

No problem!

Also, don't forget BoRK, it does %health too along with attack speed, making your autos even more dangerous.

Kindred is a champion that can farm it well and farm it fast, her passive also implies that she likes to scale really hard. Even just stacking your passive guarantees at least 10 stacks. Devourer also just eventually deals more damage than warrior because it is the most cost efficient item in the game.

Kindred like vayne is a very attack speed based champion. If devourer didnt have the high AS it has, it wouldn't be optimal on her.

Yes the double onhit proc every 4th shot is nice, but the real reason she uses it is that her kit again like vaynes is built around AS and % hp destruction which is why warrior is sub-optimal on her.
