Just a little curious as to how matchmaking works in norms.
In one game i play vs gold players (my elo) and then the next i play vs 2 diamonds, a plat and 2 golds.
I'm not complaining rly i love playing with or against higher elo players. Good way to learn. I'm just curious to know what makes the "quality" fluctuate so much in norms.

Gold, plat, diamond, that shit is all ranked only. These people primarily play ranked.
If they don't play norms much, they don't have much of a norms rating(you can't tell cause it doesn't say you are X rank in norms)
So when ranked people occasionally drop into norms because of reasons, like not caring about ranked cause preseason, they have lower norm stats and will be placed lower till they play more and actually get their norms rank up.

Just had a game where my team was average 40% win rate (2 guys with 30% and 35% + my 49%) and two guys with 0 ranked games v a team of av 50% win rate and 300+ games. Game was over after 10 mins when Yasuo mid went 0/10, bot was 3/8 and Jungle 1/6.
This happens all the time but it seems to go in streaks of 4 or 5 troll games in a row to really make sure you get bent over hard and not climb out of elo hell.
