Whats With These Drill Sargents On The Rift?

We've all seen them before. That one person who, from the moment you get into champ select, just cant stfu.

Dont get me wrong. Im all for communication and game plan. But when you are typeing so fast that when someone else does say something it is immediately scrolled out of the chat box because you are still typing your ass off about all these WHAT IFS.

Even if you mean well your spamming the chat, not even reading other peoples response, is already annoying your team and the game has not even started.

And then to make it worse you decide to bark orders during the game and then complain when your plan didnt work.

Example: my last game.....we won...but damn......this guy says "3 mid"...."draven and ali go bot."

So 3 go mid and draven and ali go bot. So while the 3 that went mid are mid near enemies base......2 enemies come out the base and 2 enemies flank from the side. Our drill sargent goes after Gragas instead of backing off. So the other 2 try to help him and we all 3 die. So then this drill sargent types "guys wtf, why doesnt anyone listen? Draven is over half our damage, we can not fight without him."

Seriously? Does anyone reading this not see what happened here? This guy masterminds 3 mid 2 bot and told Draven to go bot with the support, then while mid he started a fight that could of easily been avoided......then complained when we died without our adc in the fight.

Any team needs a leader. Someone calling the shots will make the game flow a lot smoother than 5 people just kind of hoping the 4 others are on the same wavelength. Imagine the following situation, you just cleanly wiped the enemy team and took Baron. You plan to have one more big teamfight after you all go back and heal to take the game. A good shotcaller, or "drill sergeant" as you like to call it. Will organise a plan of attack, who, when, where and how they're gonna fight. He develops a best case scenario that the team should follow loosely, like the following:

Malphite uses Unstoppable Force to engage, Karma throws a Mantra'd Inner Flame on top of it. Ezreal ults the slowed and knocked up enemies, Ryze activates his ult and passive and outputs as much DPS as possible while Rengar flanks around to kill anyone trying to escape or barely surviving.

Imagine that teamfight without the guidance of that shotcaller. It would likely be incredibly chaotic, people wouldn't be on the same page. Some would flee while others stay in the fight and end up dying, you might get aced. Guidance is necesary in a team game, if someone who knows what they're doing is calling the shots on your team compared to nobody doing it on the other team, you're basically set to win.

The only reason I can imagine your self-appointed leader got annoyed is because he pinged not to join the fight after he noticed he fucked up. Which would've resulted in only him dying. Instead, his teammates didn't notice or simply ignored his pings and died with him.

If that's not the case he's just being an ass.

Yes i know. Thats why i said im all for communication and game plan...but at least get others imput .......he was typing so fast i seriously doubt he read anything anyone else said.

I too sometimes call plays, but the way i go about it is totally different. If i see the team is just starting to wonder around and not really accomplish anything i might say "ok whats the plan?" If no one says anything then ill say "Lets try..........blah blah blah."

Maybe its just the way he went about it.

But as far as the fight......he didnt do any pinging...and yeah maybe us other 2 should of just left him instead of trying to help him....but my main thing about it is that he told the Draven to go bot and then complained about him not being mid with us.

Well, he didn't complain about Draven not being mid. He mentioned that you couldn't fight because Draven wasn't with you. I think he was probably expecting you to disengage and leave him to die rather than save him, as he was a lost cause.
