Everytime I play, I regret it as soon as I'm done

LegitBusinessman··75 votes·3,161 views

I just don't have fun. I keep expecting the game to be what it used to be but it's not. I never feel outplayed.

I WANT TO BE OUTPLAYED.

Instead damage creep is so massive it never feels like an outplay. It just feels cheesy. I'm at the point where I play because it's been my default free time activity for years. But ever since pre-season. It's just not fun.

Skill is quickly leaving the gaming industry, replaced by cheap thrills and shallow, flashy gameplay.

I wish it were otherwise, but that's how you make the most money possible.

Why is it always the EUW players that are the saltiest players?

Are u seriously making such a comment after what happened recently in the US AGAIN? Come on dude.

I completely agree. Fornite is a simpleexample. Competition, skill, time commitment are removed. The age of esports will dramatically shift.

No skill in fortnite? Is aim not considered a skill? If there was no skill involved I wouldn't be the worst at fortnite out of my group of friends.

GayFluffyUnicorn3 votes

There is aim and then there is aim. I haven't played fortnite so i'm not going to make assumptions about that game in particular but there are games where your "aim" is determined by your reflexes only since it really doesn't matter where or how you shoot. Then there are games with actual "physics"and weapon spray, bullet drop which determine your skill of how well you can aim. Videogame industry tends to go the reflex based route where you just click first and full auto and win because of that.

XxXGwanXxX1 votes

Fortnite has both, ballistics and actual aiming in third person/first person (using scopes). It also matter how you shoot some weapons as they get higher spray like in CS:GO if you just spam like an idiot.

I'd argue fortnite is a very skillfull game where you can truly see the difference between idiots and good players. There's a reason the best players are getting insane views on streams, they are actually quite good.

Whether or not you like fortnite it is definitely a game where skill matters. There are no lucky cheap kills since skilled players can always react to getting shot using the building mechanic. Whether or not you think that makes a good game is another thing

rtbf2256182413 votes

Not the gaming industry, just some games.

Don't paint yourself as an "og" here. I'd say League's extreme skill requirement to be able to handle damage creep is leaving fun behind, meaning we're technically on the same side of the argument here but it's not a problem with the industry in general as hardcore games are plentiful in multiple genres and there are more to come.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

I think its more that we're so inundated with games that you end up with a bigger ratio of crud to gold.

Wtf are you talking about? What's "skill" in this game you want then? Make specific examples of what kind "skill" you want to be displayed and you'll be satisfied with.

Right now you're just making some blanket bs statement with no real meaning.

I miss old runes so much.

Don't worry though they going to fix this.

To combat the damage creep they are going to give us a nice new rune that's going to increase the damage even more...wait what.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

That's riot for you. Stubborn as hell, never correcting mistakes but implementing another balance horror to fuck up the game even more. Bring back fervor? Nah why would we, it was balanced and equal on pretty much everyone better release another rune we have to endlessly balance. Shields are too strong? Why nerf them when you can add anti shield mechanics (which was their first idea how to fix it) and now change locket into something that may or may not be balance horror.

FatedSaviour1 votes

i tried the new locket, i had no idea when it activated, was over, or who it affected, gj riot

RainXBlade1 votes

It's like the only thing Riot can do to balance is increase damage. Then eventually, we'll get to a point where anyone can one shot someone at level 1, which is not fun at all.

I don't think riot even cares at this point because the money they make from things like LCS.

That is unfortunate.

Good luck, buddy. Hope you find other games that are more fulfilling for you.

I literally just got dumpstered by a Master 230 LP Vayne main. That's my issue. I've never even been Gold 5, and yet I get Plat/Diamond and even Master players in my games. Meanwhile my team only has silvers/golds.

Poske3 votes

Its because this people have low Normal MMR

maybe even bought acc gold 5 acc and climbed to master not touching normals

Basicly what I am saying is there is no fix to this issue

I mean riot could take a partial Ranked mmr to balance out the normal mmr.. I guess

Wimbledofy1 votes

But then master players would have to have a really long queue time for normals. They already have a long queue time in ranked, would be kinda messed up to give them a longer queue timer for normals.

Poske1 votes

We dont play normal games solo anyway

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

ofc.... normal games are more played by silvers-bronzes.

was it a ranked game? Because the ranked mmr does not "spill into" normal mmr.

Because the game is addicting, we've played it for a long time and we love it to bits and we hope that things will eventually change.

The fact that there are people like you that don't want to encourage players to keep playing just further shows us that even the community has gotten worse.

No, but you're insinuating that we should stop playing. Although I could be wrong in saying this (I hope I am).

TheHappyReaperz3 votes

Huh. Try something else then. If you don't feel like the game is fun, don't force yourself to play it. There are plenty of other games that you could try out and play.

Zertryx3 votes

I agree with you OP, The game feels so burst / snowball, its typically one sided. Even if i win a game i never feel it was fair game (weather its me carrying or someone else) it just feels like a run down and its not even really fun to win with how one sided these games have become.

It's more frustrating that it was before, trying to out play / not make a mistake is stress ful because just one bad move and it swings an entire game a lot of the time, theres almost no comming back and the amount of stress vs reward is not good.

Someone asked "then why keep playing?" and to answer that from my own personal behavior is because its addicting game, theres also nostalgia involved as well as the genre / type and mood. It's a game ive played for years, its the only game of its genre i enjoy the artwork / character design and also mechanically am familiar with (similar to why people who complain about wow dont move to another mmo) it takes time and alot of practice to re-learn a brand new game of this kinda genre that its just not worth the effort to many. I still like playing Mobas but i dont like character design and art work to many of them so i typically go back to LoL when im int hat mood to play a moba, and then every patch im like "ok maybe this time its gotten better" but .... this season EVERY patch has been real disappointing. I want this game to be enjoyable to everyone myself included because when it was fun for the majority it has been an amazing game.

Yes im tired, yes im not having fun anymore, no i do not HATE LOL, but i am becoming disappointing in it as of lately and i want a change from its snowball one sided feel

Anatera3 votes

Nothing about the game is fair anymore. It used to have SOME semblance of skill, but now everyone just picks what's OP and in the meta and with how slanted the runes are now, it makes fotm champs feel even worse to play against than they used to.

You never get outplayed by the opposing player, you get outplayed by their picks. It goes the other way around too. If the enemy team is stupid enough to pick what they want to play, they'll get dumpstered by you if your pick happens to be more fotm than theirs. Which is why wins are so unfulfilling too because, the truth is, you didn't earn them.

FatedSaviour1 votes

i never get outplayed by the opposing player, i got outplayed by how much my teamates fed them

NocturnalSheild1 votes

Man i thought that too but i know a 2x challenger on his way to 3x challenger that can play and win with literally any adc.

And its always skill based.

Once saw him on ezreal during a chaotic team fight dodging 3 enemys and hitting 24 ezreal qs in a row while using los and bushs perfectly.

Skill still matters. He says macro play matters shit tons more than micro plays.

Adrixiss2 votes

i have a lot of fun doing anti-meta things... and testing new things like zyra support with after shock for more tankines at early vs agresive enemy support like leona... they just do no dmg to me, is very fun can play zyra and no be oneshoting every time they angage me

FatedSaviour1 votes

i do something like this, but not for the reason u do it, i do things like sion adc, or full ap nami mid, to cripple myself, hoping that i wont feel like im 2.5'ing when it comes to 10 minutes because 2 of my teamates have fed at least 1 kill to 5 deaths

I just uninstalled it today. It's not worth playing something that you don't enjoy. I played at least one game every day because I am addicted. Try to find other stuff you like and come back when stuff gets fixed.

Sorin Alucard1 votes

What I think is bullshit is that the "adc supp" combo has become a general win condition. Top lane lost? Mid lost? Its cool use your jg and roams to feed 5 or 6 kills to Lulu Xayah and watch them 2v5 the enemy because they won bot lane.

I just destroyed an azir. I've got 60 cs on him and 4 kills no deaths. roamed got a kill bot, roamed got a kill top. roamed again, get 2 towers and the jgler. 10 min later its all for nothing because bot lane fed 10 deaths a piece to the enemy bot specifically.

She then proceeds to delete us all from max range as nothing can penetrate Lulu summoner 7 item 3504 item 3383 item 3026

When an enemy is ahead, there's nothing you can do anymore. Games snowball out of control before 15 mins and unfortunately ive spent over 500$ on this game and this is how they return my favour. Thanks rito.

GripaAviara1 votes

Oh you're so wrong. IF an enemy is ahead, way ahead you can still kill him fast because of the damage. That's why solo carrying is almost a thing of the past

I feel the same way honestly. I miss being outplayed rather than just cheesy power creep dying. It's really shitty when your in a lower elo than you been the last couple seasons too because you see the same bad play but everyone dies so damn fast it's harder to counter act it than it was in the past.

JabaTheHat1 votes

Give us examples of when you EVER feel outplayed. What will satisfy you as "skill" that you accept and want to play as and against?

If you can give specific examples about what qualifies as "outplay" and "skill" for you, then you have a point. Otherwise it's just "I'm salty and won't admit I ever get outplayed. I always externalize my failures to other causes other than myself".

getting smashed because someone got caught at a low level isn't getting outplayed??? gasp! Yea, I feel you though. Used to be people got fed because they were a beast or had a sweet teamcomp that meshed really well, or just plain ol skill difference. Now it feels like you get hit with a stat check and lose pending on your own stat response. There's maybe 1 or 2 moments per match where I say, "hmm outplays right there" and they are generally in the jungle pertaining to smite steals on drags or baron
