Losing lane gracefully and waiting to scale is no longer an option.
Game is over before that ever happens
Game is over before that ever happens
I agree , despite having the enemy jungler camping you , if you are playing vs a counter pick , you cant do much untill late game , or at least untill you buy some items to show off your skills , but that's not happening anymore ..the game ends by surr at 15
Right now the team that has decent botlane will win, and i was never wrong. I never felt so irrelevant in midlane and toplane, no matter how good i play, what i do, no matter what i pick, i am fuking irrelevant and always gambling on which botlane will be superior one this game. Of course those adc are so overpowered they even started jungling, instead of having one massive tank melting crap now you have 2.
Never lost a lane and always out roamed my opponents, like it matters duh, and this is pissing away my stats, my rank, my life. Though honestly i believe its no difference and the games are garbage in all elos right now. So that is my smallest concern, my biggest one is if the game is going to get relatively normal. Aram was in good state, but even they are now losing their appeal.
Last game i managed to gank botlane 5 times to wreck enormous enemy adc lead it had, since i don't matter, but botlanes do, meanwhile comes out enemy twich from jungle and 1k damages 3 people in few sec and yeah it was over by 10 min but game lasted even whole 20 minutes. Even if i magically put down 1 of them, there can even come 2nd one of them, and dear god if they have a strong support not some random Nami(no offense), but actual full shielding, buffing, healing beast by their side, me and jungler wouldn't even got to stop him in first place.
Edit: i have been on winning side as well, but its boring since i am irrelevant, our botlane goes so far up their asses and there is no counterplay to salvage the game, so its boring, messy, easy win. I though gaming should be satisfying, but no version of game feels like that anymore.

This has been my experience from the perspective of a non-ADC jungler, last season as well but 10x worse this season. It doesn't seem to matter what my score is like, if my bot lane loses there's jack diddly squat I can do. And if they win, I don't even feel like I'm contributing even if I'm like 15/5.
Oh god i cant even play aram in this preseason. Whichever team gets and adc wins. If they get 2 adcs expect to do nothing but die all game listening to "Enemy double KIll! Enemy triple kill! ENEMY PENTA KILL!......
Pretty much. I've noticed that the first team to get a guy going 6/0 or take turrets in 2 lanes usually wins
Yeah because the other team misplayed so bad they let one person go 6/0 and roam for free. The guy was good enough to go 6/0, so why shouldnt they be able to win?
Not exaclty true. Often times 2 laners can be about the same skill level. One gets lucky and gets a kill and after that the other guy cant keep up since they were equal skill level and the guy with the kill snowballs out of control giving the illusion that he is better. Really its just that the game is super snowball prone this season.
A small lead is usually game since the snowball grows so quickly. Take these champs for example:

Give any of them get a lead and they will easily snowball and stomp players of equal skill.
Or maybe they got their lead by being better? Or maybe you gave them that first kill and didn't respect that they have that lead on you now. There's not really a ton of luck in this game other than crit chance
You are missing the point.
If someone is better, they should be getting a lead.
The problem is that, once a lead is gotten (through any means. maybe you lost a 1v1 by an incredibly small margin, well within reason of error, maybe you got outplayed), thats basically it. You have basically no chance to play passive, correct your mistakes, and make a comeback.
Back in S2-4, when someone had a lead, they still had to work to KEEP that lead. Now, that lead is almost insurmountable a large portion of the time, with very little effort put into keeping the lead.
That's just not true. Sure you won't be able to kill them, but you should be able to keep up in cs. However if you don't respect their lead and you continue to try to trade with them, of course they'll continue to press their lead to create bigger ones and beat you bad.

If they're even halfway decent at the game they'll understand how to zone you off CS or they'll contest every minion you step up to take.
THIS, when people tell me as a adc main omg how come u have no farm, OH idk im just beinf zoned off it???? help me teleport down or give me a gank and stop flaming
Keystones essentially give you free flat damage on trades. (PTA, Electro, Comet and Aery) has changed the game so that whoever is winning trades, wins them much more.
The removal of bonus resistances from runes and buffs to flat hp regen (not %hp regen) that were available in the old resolve mastery tree also makes health potions less efficient. Which makes farming under harass much much harsher.
Yeah, but luckily most players opt into taking a keystone of their own so they can use their own advantages.
Wait wtf thats nostalgia talking, first back then when you had a lead you stayed there, shut down gold was so much smaller and the person with the lead had such a larger gold lead it's not even funny. What your telling me though is complete bull, if you let your laner go 6/0 on you then you definitely need to take a look at yourself cause your playing trash. And don't even tell me "oh well what if he roams". If he roams call it out and push his tower hard as fuck. I hate people who bring up past seasons thinking it was better, it wasn't. Those game we're to long, thanks to the way minions were baron and Drake's and towers. They became dragged out games where the only thing that would win games were death timers
hey laner is roaming " mid laner what? gets killed by the roamer. omg how come no one signals missing
U people all act like people in this game know wtf to do when someone is fed. All they do is go feed them some more then flame
i blame mana potions not being around anymore. you used to be able to just pot up and try to turtle in lane now its like fuck u have fun killing minions rthe rest of the game whiel i kill ur team and take tower
Let's go with a thought experiment: suppose that you have two laners with exactly the same skill level, and who are playing champions who are exactly evenly matched against each other, perhaps even the same champion. All else held equal, whoever gets the first kill in this lane more or less comes down to a coin flip, because both players are exactly evenly matched. Once that first kill happens, however, the balance is broken: both players are on equal skill, but one of the two now has greater power. All else held equal, whoever had the first kill will only increase their lead, whether it be by getting more kills or using their advantage to augment their lead across the map, and thereby give themselves more power. In a perfectly balanced game, the outcome of the lane or the match would have to be decided by many more hypothetical coin flips in this situation, as both players would have an equal chance of gaining the upper hand over the other, but here, one single coin flip decides the entire outcome. This is not a stable basis for PvP combat.
What people are trying to point out is that currently, getting a lead isn't really shown in terms of tower kills or distance to the nexus, but is instead primarily expressed through major personal gains in power. This means that any champion with a lead has more raw statistical strength than a champion who doesn't, and therefore becomes able to win fights using increasingly less skill. In extreme cases, a single champion can become as strong as two or more champions on the opposing side, and the net result is that whichever team is on the back foot cannot hope to compete with a team that can do absolutely everything better than them, purely because of their stat lead.
This has always existed to some extent in League, but at least in the past, if a team messed up, their opponent could much more easily exploit that mistake, and use their momentum to make significant gains themselves. Nowadays, though, comebacks are far less frequent, because winning teams very quickly reach this kind of event horizon where they become too big to fail, and only some extreme case of incompetence will cost them their lead when they have such a huge statistical advantage. This is also why many players get the impression that matches are decided within the laning phase, because if a champion gets a lead there, they can quickly become so monstrously powerful that the other lanes, and by extension the rest of the game, very rapidly snowball in turn once they either push or roam, a problem made worse by how quickly turrets can fall from their laner just dying once or twice.
You instantly dropped the fact that this game is Asymetrical. That already should give you an indication how rigorous your thought experiment has to be for the conclusion to fit. (which is not a good way to go about it) The two people facing each other might be of equal skill, items, and team / external influences aren't. You are also assuming that because they are of equal skill they make only that one coin flip.
In fact it's multiple coinflips at every second or even less Flip for mistake. Flip for opponent capitalizing on mistake. Flip for defendee to react properlry to punishment
Then you ASSUME that they are ABLE to assert their champ onto other lanes in a positive way. What if they die, what if the enemy reacts well to the ganks, ganker loses farming time, behind player gets a breather to catch up.
So, all those flips every split second + asymetry in champs and reactivity in items ( let alone other players exerting influence), makes for a game where those of equal skill do not neccesarily win on the first flip.
Yes, it might be easier to increase your lead, but its not effortless. As a toplane brawler player, i've seen matchups flip after items and certain levels. Or after player mistakes (heck I COUNT on my opponent making mistakes and me punishing them).
Though second paragraph and on, I feel that you are on point. Your first paragraph simply had to boil down to:
and therefore becomes able to win fights using increasingly less skill
-- Edit
Hmm, my reply doesn't seem to stick properly to the right person, sorry about that.

You instantly dropped the fact that this game is Asymetrical.
Not at all, I specified in the premises that, in this thought experiment, both sides are exactly evenly matched, and that the simplest way to imagine it would be to imagine both sides playing the same champion. "All else held equal" also means that you precisely control for these outside occurrences, and simply assume that nothing happens here to influence the conditions. You are right that, in a real game, there is always the possibility of one side getting ganked or the like, but in a real game, nobody is exactly evenly matched, which is why the very contrived framework I am setting is only valid in a thought experiment. My point, however, is that even in these hypothetically perfectly equal conditions, snowballing in the game via gold and experience leads means that the first kill (and we're looking at kills here, nothing else) decides the outcome of every subsequent fight. Introducing outside factors and asymmetry has literally no purpose in a thought experiment whose core assumption is that the particular situation it deals with is perfectly isolated and symmetrical.
Saying all other factors are equal is not considering other factors, it is a removal of those unspoken factors. To take them into account you have to add each factor individually and consider them, which you chose not to do which is fine. Also saying it is not a stable basis for PvP is your opinion not a fact. There is a reason why PvP is different in every game because every creator has a different take on it.
Also the result of two players in a purely equal set up that you came to is not correct. One player would not win that fight, neither one can win the fight. Since all factors are equal in your scenario the end result is also equal. Either both players never kill each other and constantly trade even, back at the same time, purchase same items, return at the same time and repeat; or both players all in and both kill the other. This is actually possible in the current game and has been, can’t tell you how many times I have personally 1v1 to just both die to the other.
To be blunt your hypothetical scenario proves or disproves nothing do to all factors being truly equal. In order for one player to survive and the other to die would come down to simply luck, which breaks the equality. This can happen if either champ being played uses crit as a stat or a factor you didn’t consider such as RNG Dragon was taken by one team and not the other. Also one player who does lose the fight and gains no kill has multiple options available to them to counter or regain a lead. They can build defense instead of damage, they can roam, they can take an objective if the other player roams but all factors break true equality.
What I’m saying is even your situation breaks true equality when 1 person wins the supposedly true equal match up, however you also decide to ignore many factors that conveniently don’t support your end result. You have a valid point but your example situation is poorly thought out. Items can change the game a lot, depending on what is picked or not, the fact is the game is never going to be in a true equal situation either. If it ever does, no one will win and I’d be curious to know what happens when both Nexus are destroyed simultaneously.
except this "coinflip" is whoever makes a mistake/outplay. thus the person who got the kill played well for longer, in other words they played better.
In a situation where everything is equal the one with the lead will win if they both play perfectly, but (s)he can still make a mistake/get outplayed. It should be harder to outplay from behind why the fuck should one not be rewarded for doing well. This is ESPECIALLY true in a mirror match as you're just statchecking at that point. If you'd kill your opponent and don't get a lead from that, why would you ever kill them?
I'm personally seeing alot more comebacks now.
Like srsly, noone should be able to go 0/6/0 and expect to "just scale back into the game". No you're gonna need to make "lcs bigplays" or do some serious powerfarming to get back into the game.
yeah this bullshit doesnt work bot lane, when ur facing 2 different people with a random support who u have no idea is competent or not.
u can make the best play the best trade and then have ur support let u downa nd boom double kill gg bot lane
But your reasoning relies on an assumption that violates the basic premise set in the post you are replying to. By a coinflip, I really just mean that whoever got the first kill won from factors outside of either player's skill. In the case of a Tryndamere mirror match, for example, two perfectly equal players can still have an unequal matchup simply because of random crits, and similar, though more subtle outcomes can happen with minions and the way their AI interacts with champions. Even in the case you mentioned, a game where one single mess-up costs you the entire match is not the most fun version of that game you can have, precisely because it should not boil down to a single fight or mistake.
You also miss the point of my post: I'm not at all saying players shouldn't be rewarded for doing well, quite the contrary. What I am saying, however, is that the way the game primarily rewards success is in fact not optimal: in a MOBA, the primary means of progressing through a game should be permanent gains in objectives, namely the destruction of structures all the way up to the enemy base. If this does not happen, the game does not progress. When a fight is won in League, however, the most direct result is that the player who won gets more powerful: the intent is that this then indirectly leads to progress by allowing players to destroy structures, but again, this progress is indirect, and depends on the player's ability to push, which is heavily dependent on their class. In the meantime, though, the winning side generates this stat buffer that means they can make more and more mistakes and still continue to win: past a certain point, the winning side can make even more overall mistakes than the losing side, and still win because they just happened to get a lead at the most critical part of the game, or at least that is the perception. In the meantime, the progress that team makes in the game does not perfectly correlate with their lead, because they can get many more kills and jungle objectives (which also mainly just give more personal power) before they decide to push. Effectively, the end result is a game that rewards leads tremendously inefficiently, damaging the quality and integrity of player-versus-player combat, while only indirectly speeding up the end of a match.
The point being that champions that are designed to powerfarm typically do not have a strong means of avoiding trades, or being interactive, if they did they would be overpowered. I think this thread is made to point out that scaling in general is strictly worse than playing champs are designed to have a strong laning phase, via harassment, or assasins that will try to rack up kills early game. the champions picked for highest tiers of play have strong elements of both, combined with champion picks that cover other indivdual champions weaknesses, but first and foremost must have strong laning mechanics.

TBH if you give an Akali or Jax an early lead it's your own fault. You gotta abuse their early. That's called COUNTERPICKING.
Right its MY fault when another lane THAT ISN'T MY LANE feeds them to the end of the earth. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I think that is exactly what OP was telling , how is it not true then?
Look at the first post. The second post is below threshold that's the one i was commenting on not the OP
The game is definitely more snowball prone. That being said I've made several comebacks from 10-15k gold deficits this season in the bronze mmr.
Yeah but in bronze the teams with huge leads tend to lose their minds and start messing around thinking they are broken and will start jumping in 1 v 4 and crap like that. Now give that lead to a team trying to win and GG goodluck ever leaving your base ever.
True. To that point I always focus on towers especially when I’m behind while the enemy will get stuck chasing.
The king of Bronze splitpushing
Pretty much. I've noticed that the first team to get a guy going 6/0 or take turrets in 2 lanes usually wins
6/0 is a pretty fat lead
So you mean the team which get a huge lead usually wins ?
Sounds very unfair.
If the games were 10 minutes long that would be better. To sit in a loss for 30+ minutes because
and
in bot lane decided to feed out
6 kills in the first 5 mintues of the game even though you are 2/0 in top with more cs than your laner IT IS STUPID. -20lp cuz Jinx and Raka thought they were playing CoD.
So here's the situation :
Why would you win and not them ?
Did you take into account that, maybe, the opponent jungler put pressure on botlane, which totaly released pressure from your toplane ?
Pretty much. I've noticed that the first team to get a guy going 6/0 or take turrets in 2 lanes usually wins
lets be honest, if you plan on winning a decent number of games where you go 0/6 then at that point the game would become pure farmfest or pure tdm.
A 6/0 lead should give you around an 85% chance of winning the game, i think thats perfectly fair given leagues style.
A 6/0 lead USUALLY doesn't mean 0/6 opponent (altho there's SOME real baddies out there). 6/0 usually starts at 2/0 or 3/0 where the person with the lead then jumps into another lane for another 2-3 kills and then gets really oppressive. The biggest problem is if ALL other lanes are holding level (or even pulling small leads) then it feels REAL bad to have Captain Snowball come to kick your ass. (and don't tell me "play safe" when your turret is garbage, either you concede lane because Captain Snowball gives you no chance at which point you've now LOST lane and your lane opponent is ALSO ahead, or you try to hold lane in which case you're going to die to "fed" champ, especially because the guy he's been beating up probably ain't gonna rotate over to help)
Exactly! Well said! [galio-happy]
Yet teammates love to go 0-3/6+ every game. Guess that my fault for not mind-controlling them to stop feeding. [zombie-brand-facepalm]
Does'st matter if im doing ok or even good half the time when teammates secure wins for the enemy. Its a soup kitchen in bot lane apparently.
If someone has a 6/0 lead or they're 2 turrets ahead they should win unless they throw their lead. It's actually unhealthy if its easy to come back when you're 0/6
Feels just as unhealthy when
is 13/0 before 20 minutes even though she is a "late game champ with a hard early game"... Tell that to
and
. How do you die that much with a
. Also doesn't help how super cheap ADC items are now. All you need is
and
to completely delete anyone and Riot had the brilliant idea of making them both super cheep.
I can't find that game in your match history.
YUP even late game champions. you cannot lose lane nowdays. maybe if you're top lane and bot lane is winning. or maybe mid if top and bot are winning. but not a whole lot to be done by yourself. games don't last long
Tower taking has been easier with the demolish from the resolve tree and when people play champs like
Also I would say alot of my normal games have consisted of barely anyone playing tanks.
yeah as an adc player, i find it very tough to win games without someone to peel for me
Yes![zombie-brand-mindblown]
