To the people saying "Supports are the problem, not ADCs...."
Look, I'm not about to try and convince you that Supports are in a fine state, (because they aren't) but the idea that they are the reason bot lane is an issue is incredibly shortsighted.
The common argument i hear is that "supports are too good at protecting ADcs" an to that i say, umm, so they should be bad at protecting an ADC? Look, whatever way you wanna spin it, the fact of the matter is if there is an ADC and they have a support next to them, that is a 2v1 situation if you jump the ADC. Just because the Support is (typically) not a damage oriented role does not mean you can treat this as the ADC effectively being alone. The Support expresses their ability through their ability to protect their teammate and they should be able to do so when they are playing correctly.
The only position where you would primarily blame the support as the main culprit is if your concern in this regard is purely whether you got to kill the ADC or nor, which is quite frankly juvenile. In a 2v1 scenario, you should have to outplay in order to come out ahead, it shouldn't be a given.
So what is the real problem then> Well obviously im talkign about ADCs. Like i said before, I do think Supports are overtuned atm, but they are not the main culprits at all. The ADCs they protect are the issue.
If I am playing an Assassin and I jump an ADC, i don't care if the Support managed to protect the ADC from me. I'm upset that the ADC killed me in less time than my entire assassination rotation could go off, not even giving me the opportunity to attempt an escape or bait anything out, and that's the problem. Because when Assassins save Kayn and Kha die 1v1 to ADCs at 30 minutes, the support isn't the main issue here.
Supports by their nature are enablers and ADCs are already absurdly broken. So it is only natural that as enablers they would make an already busted class unbearable to deal with.
ADCs simply do way to much burst per second atm and so supports doing their job simply makes them near untouchable.
So yes, while I do think Supports need to be toned down, I think it is important that we address ADCs first lest we nerf Supports into oblivion before addressing the root of the problem.
For the record, the areas I feel supports need to be looked at are a combination of the rune system and heal/shield power. Tank Supports get tons of free HP from minion drops and Sudden Impact gives you almost 100 Resistances at lvl freaking 1. They are tankier than they've ever been atm.
Gathering Storm allows Enchanters to gain tons of AP without having to build any, and Redemption has been contentious since release. Aery's shield , I like How it takes a bit before it goes up, but i feel it should take a bit more time just to tone it down a bit, as well as tune its nonexistent CD in some way. Maybe make Aery have a fixed return time or something.
TL'DR, while supports are a bit overturned, their ability to effectively protect ADCs isn't the problem. the Efficiency of protecting them is. And the reason it is is because of how stupidly overpowered they currently are.
all alone bot lane (i had vision on the 4 other players far away form him.
