Galio's E and Sejuani's Q

The explanation for Galio's inability to traverse terrain with his Q is that a tank isn't supposed to do so. It also only hits one target.

However, Sejuani has a longer dash with no wind-up, that can knock up multiple targets and pass over walls.

She must be an assassin, not a tank. We've been playing her wrong all along.

The issue is that Galio shouldn't be limited in this way when no other tank is. Even Shen, with his similar ultimate, can pass over terrain using an ability that can effect multiple targets with its CC.

Because Galio is a defensive tank who's not supposed to be engaging fights

Sejuani is meant to initiate, and being able to flank is a part of that

and Galio's dash works the same as Sejuani's otherwise; it knocks up all non-champs and stop at the first champion hit.

No, it does not. Galio's specifically will not knock up more than one target. Sejuani's can. Even with that aside, there is no other tank in the game who shares this weakness on a movement ability.

I'd rather him have a unique weakness than another cookie-cutter engage ability.

Galio isn't supposed to have an easy time engaging fights. Dash can't go over walls, taunt slows him, ult doesn't follow teammate's movement.

Zac ...and when tank Ekko was a thing....ward jump Jax can fill in as a tank just because of his stun dodge."tank" Akali "tank" Fizz "tank" Camille ...the list goes on...

Tank is just a word...riot doesn`t balance limitations based on expectations of what they are supposed to do...

Sion can jump over walls with his ult *alot of tanks can go over walls with their ults but sion`s ability is rarely brought up and he performs best at zoning/peeling kinda like the new Galio *

Im not disagreeing with you or agreeing with you because their really is nothing to agree or disagree with...you found something in riots words that they might regret later

And even then there are still sub categories...which riot should have said instead of "tank" they did say warden a few times but they should not have said tank at that time.
